I've just had a game at my local GW store today, played against an old (old as in experience, not age) veteran player. It was a Chaos vs Chaos fight at 1,200pts and I had my Black Legion All4Marks taking on his Khorne army. I was called cheese and a power gamer for including Slaanesh HQs. For the first 3 turns of the game, my rolling were bad to the bone, it was so bad that I literally rolled 5,2,2,1 on my two Death Guard Plasma Gunner rapid firing on the first turn, then proceed to fail the armour save by rolling 3,2,1 and then made no feel no pain rolls thus losing 2 PlasmaGun on the first turn. The only shot that hits were rolled a 1 to wound. The rest of my army were in horrible shapes, nothing but 1's and 2's for the first 3 turns. My Slaanesh lord on steed w/ daemon weapon were tied in combat with 5 regular CSM with bolters (5 CSM for 1 troop choice) for 3 straight turns, total of 15 attacks that all missed... ironically, the 5 bolter marines managed to even wound me twice.
It is at this point, on turn 4, when my one wound lord was freed from his torment, he charged straight forward into my opponent's Khorne lord. He caused one wound on my opponent's lord and managed to instant kill him. It was then, my opponent threw his model on the table and called the game saying he had no heart to continue playing the game. I asked why, he says the Psychic power Lash of Submission was so cheese because I kept on moving his terminator unit backward. He then continue making statements on how stupid it is and how I used to play Tau that's why I use all the cheesy stuff.
Has anyone that play Slaanesh HQ ever had this experience with other players? I am starting to feel that Slaanesh HQ is not meant to be used unless with your opponent's agreement or some sort.
From the sounds of it the guy was just a bit of a poor loser. Calling the game at the loss of his khorne lord is a bit much. Especially when it's his own fault for putting him within charge range of a slaanesh lord with the new daemon weapon!.
You are obviously only using 1 lash, so you havn't gone completely overboard, he just needs to harden up a little.
Either don't play the guy, or when you do, try and make him cry, cause damn is that funny!
What a douche.... you were doing so poorly but as soon as the tides turn this guy has a fit. If you ever play him again make him cry or break his models.
I get serious during games... but gd there's no need to throw a fit. There's too many people that get way too into this game.
O and cheese... he should be glad you can't make a min max iron warriors army with a bassy, 2 defilers, 9 oblits, and min troops/hq. Yeah.....
Lash is not cheese, it's a strategic ability. If lash is cheese then tau's pure range is cheese, tyranids pure cc is cheese, eldars vehicles and eldrad are cheese. Get the picture?
I personally don't mind it, and i just ran a list with 2 lashes at the Melbourne GT. But on that note, i would say it is a fairly powerful power and it is a bit much to run 2 in a list . 1 is acceptable as it's in the codex, can't really punish you for using it. But 2 is taking it a bit far.
So on that note, feel free to use 1 lash, opponents have to get used to facing it at some point .
No Slaanesh HQ doesnt equal powergaming, blissgiver and lash are nice combos put to use them effectively you pay for it. You are not going to be able to lash his terminators if he deepstrikes them or puts them in a Landraider, mechaniseing a force not only minimises the effects of lash but also provides a good general way to play with mobility and flexibility.
I would gladly give anyone a game even with 2 lashes, its good but it can be handled
so if it's a vet why is he acting like a total noob? seriously in one of my first games I got pwned by tau, then another against crons(blames DA partner), then another against guard. but did I give up "because crons are cheesy!" "tau guns are to good!" "guard orded me!" NO! I modified my list and my tactics, now instead of stand and shoot, I have more squads and plasma! and got rid of my techie
anyway it's his fault that he was in range of your lord, lash is cheesy, but with all these psychic hoods, runes of warding and whatnot, chaos and tau are the only armies that really bleed from foes use of psychic powers (haha chaos, my libby shall pwn your daemons!)
so tell him that he/she should stop whining and get real, that or sick a nidzilla on his all assaulty list and let the bodies fly! stupid whiner, should be hit on the head with a forgeworld titan!
Create flames for a galaxy and it will be warm. Put a galaxy in flames and it will be warm for the rest of it's existence.
Pft, what a weenie. Hell, tell him that the next time you see him. Tell him that Katie Drake called him a weenie!
I can hardly see how blissgiver is cheesy, if you'd given out power fists you would have instant killed him so its not as if blissgiver is bad.
The lash is really overpowered so as long as you take 1 and don't design your army around mass turn 1 charges I think its perfectly acceptable.

If anyone wants any kind of help writing fluff for any kind of GW army just ask.
i dont get why people moan about "power gameing" , what the hell is it? simple someone who has creaed an effective army list, the points have been paid so its been accounted for, its fair its equel, iv only ever been called a power gamer once, and thats because i was useing my old World eater army against a friends "close combat" guard unit, i dont think i need to tell you the result.
People who cry power gamer are either sore losers, bad tacticians or both.
PROUD TO BE IN THE BRITISH ARMY.
