I'm not quite sure how things work with the new codex when you give a mark to a Chaos Space Marine Squad so here's how I understand things:
If you take a dedicated CSM squad, let's say a Plague Marine squad, it gets some special rules and a +1T. That's quite clear and straight forward. Same thing for all the other dedicated warriors. No problem there.
The gray area for me is when you take a squad of CSM, gear it up and then give it an Icon. The Icon give them the mark of the God it is dedicated to. So let's say that if I take 9 CSM with an AsCSM, gear them up and then give them the Nurgle Icon, they all become dedicated to Nurgle and get the +1T, but do they get the special rules Plague Marines have? because technically they become Plague Marines... Same thing for the other marks, do a CSM squad that take the Khorne Icon get Furious Charge?
My first guess would be no, because there's a huge difference in points between normal troops with a mark and dedicated troops.
Anyway if the answer is no, if CSM squads dedicated to Nurgle don't get the Feel No Pain rule or if CSM squads dedicated to Khorne don't get Furious Charge, then that means that there is two level of dedication to a God, the CSM squads with an Icon being only followers without full benefits...
It also means that the Raptors, Chosens and Terminators don't get the special rules either...
Anybody knows how it work?
Indeed there is a vast difference between being the dedicated follower of a certain Diety and be an all-out-specially-genetically-modified-neurally-treated-full-believer.
If you read the fluff sections on the different Dieties and their followers you'll see that there are only a very few "people" being able to create a full-blown Plauge Marine. Anybody can join a unit with a freaky flag, but it takes something extra to have your guts explode from vireal happyness
Just because they have amark of chaos " does not make them _blank_. " . If you want plauge marines then you buy plauge marines from thier unit entry. CSM are just basic troops with some nifty squad upgrades.Having the mark of nurgle does not a Plauge Marine make.
Thought for the day: A Burning Heretic , Will brighten the Decor of any room.
Well in a sense that's good because it make a lot of sense, but I almost tought that I could have an entire army with FNP... It felt good while it lasted you never know with those new codex .
