whats the thinking of the IoT on termies
i'm liking the idea of a really big unit of termies who can be an almost immovable force in the centre of the line
for the points it's expensive but if you go over 7 models you are less than 5 points a model for the save upgrade to 4+ invulnerable
whats the opinion on the following unit
4 combi plasma
2 combi melta
It's definitely expensive but it is very hard to shift. The oppo is also likely to waste a lot of heavy weapons shots if they try and take them down as they are ignoring 50% of any hits.
A part of me knows that the smaller units with a more defined purpose are going to be better but i do like the idea of this big unit slamming into the middle of the enemy lines and saying "take me out if you can".

Even a unit of 5 is very worth its own point cost.
I am currently running two units of 5 Tzeentch Termies in my list, 4 Combi-Plasmas, 1 Heavy Flamer, 1 Chainfist. Deep-striking them along with my Tzeentch Termie Lord with Daemon Weapon... that's alot of shots at AP2 and AP3 on the turn they appear.
Units of 5 Tzeentch Terminators, their own individual point cost is only 39 points... that's even 1 point cheaper than the loyalist Terminators but they have a 4+ invulnerable save plus they strike in initiative order against loyalist marines. I think our Chaos Termies are the best

Garmor, I'd add at least one more power fist just to give the unit more c.c. punch. Usually, I'd advise against mixing special combi-weapons, but in a unit this big, it's not a bad idea. After all, the two melta shots give you solid tank busting abilities at the expense of only two additional plasma shots in rapid fire range (assuming the two meltas were plasmas). It's a good squad, a little expensive, but that's to be expected.
