Im putting together a list, and i was thinking, vindicator, defiler, or pred to support my various deamons and CSMs as they charge forth the best?
right now im thinking that the Vindi will help the most, as S[x] will help against hordey armies,

Most armies generally need to reserve at least two of their heavy slots for tank busting. If you're using rhinos, then predators are the primary option, as they distract your opponent into firing at the preds instead.
There are some obvious exceptions. If you're including lots of melta guns in your troops and fast attacks (and possible combi-meltas on your termis), then you can include two defilers, as well as a las-sponson predator.
The vindicator is somewhat problematic, but still usable in some builds. For one thing, most enemies attempt to take it down ASAP, which, by the way, is a fine distraction from your rhinos. However, you have to be willing to accept it's short range, unlike the defiler, which nearly always shoots at the optimal target.
All this boils down to your army list. What's in it?
Spambot kill tally. . .337
noise marines, deamons, norm CSMs, and a lord with steed right now.

i'd look at havocs marked with tzeentch with at least 2 lascannons preferably 4. I like 7 havocs in all.. 3 to take wounds. and now havocs can fight as well... true gritish. it's only 10 pts cheaper for a predator.. but thats one less lascannon and with one lucky shot your 185 predator is toast.... get at least one unit of havocs
With that sort of list, especially if you're not putting the normal CSMs into a Rhino I have to say that I would go with the hidden fourth option - Havocs & Oblits. I think if you just toss in two Preds for tankhunting they'll be the first things to go, and if you go second against an army with a good amount of ranged tankhunting of its own you will likely be down and out before you know it.
That said, if you really want to put tanks in I would say two Preds, AC/LC, is your best bet.

Send me a hello if you remember me.
From stricktly assault'esque options, the Defilers and Dreadnought all are good for advancing fire power and then helping in assault.
