Is There a disadvandages with a squad of thousand sons??? they seem too good to be true.
Whats with Noise marines??? There High Int. Makes them great CC fighters, yet the have access to all the Sonic weaponry. Are they Better a fighting with range or CC??????
That all being said, they're still good choices. They're just not the 'end all, be all' choice of Chaos Troops. They excel versus MEQ units, but suffer against Horde, like 'Nids or Guard. Anything with a 2+ save also eats them alive. They're a situational unit that is only useful against a distinct type of unit; it just happens that the unit type they're good against is the most common unit type in the game.
Thousand sons are to MEQ units what Wyches are to CC units.
Wyches are an 'anti close combat' close combat unit.
1K sons are dedicated specifically against MEQs so it seems, having the fire power and range to decimate them. They're also pretty resilient against the standard anti meq equipment to - low rate of fire low AP weapons.
I personally think that 1K sons can be brutally effective in CC to against certain types of opponents - IE harlequins and genies.
I'm increasingly growing interested in the fire potential of Emperor's children too. An 8 man squad with 8 sonic blasters can unleash a crazy amount of fire on the move, and if they stay still.. then woe betide the enemy within range.
Interesting times ahead. ^__^

im running 1 squad of thousand sons and two squads of x8 noise marines all with sonic blasters and it working out really well. the thousand sons are meant for going after tougher targets while the noise marines are amazing against hord armies.
I think the key thing to point out here is that both of these units are effective in both facets of the game. They can lay down fire with the best of them and also hold their own in cc. In fact, with the new "ultra-grit", I feel that the Khorne Berzerkers are our only true specialized unit. Everything else can serve multiple purposes within an army.
