the basics of my delima is im trying to put to make up a 40k chaos army the colours would be that of the fallen dark angels, anyway i was thinking of a force this morning and i was aiming for a balanced force that looked like the fallen but didnt retain any of the chaos demonic units and few demonic powers probley limiting them to either the chaos lord or sorcerer.
i have read the rules for a while, and i do find backstorys intresting so i was thinking of starting a fallen army and doing a backstory for them.
i do want to play an army has a bit of character in it , but also be flexible enough to handle any given situation.
also is it possible for the lord to have a cursed Crozius as a weapon, so hed look like a chaos chaplain.
the possible force would be:
chaos space marines 3 squads of 10 , meltagun , plasma gun missile launcher and a heavy bolter.
Obliterator Cult, took nothing out for them.
Chaos Predator , the predator would have side las cannon sponsons and twin linked las cannons
Chaos Raptor, aspiring champion
Chaos Dreadnought, twin linked heavy bolter and the close combat replaced with missile launchers.
and Chaos bikers, champion
the rest of the points would be either upgrade the lord with terminator armour or weapons and wargear not sure about the last part thou.
sorry for the long post.
Hello and welcome to the dark side.
Your overall choices look pretty good. However, there are some of your configurations that, well, could be tweaked a little bit in order to make the most of your points. Each in turn:
10 Man Marine Squads: You can only have a total of 1 heavy weapon, so either the missile launcher or the heavy bolter. Second, chaos marines aren't particularly renowned for being heavy weapon experts; they're more designed for toting special weapons inside a rhino with a champion. Here's the basic configuration. You can't go wrong with them.
*2x special weapons
*1x aspiring champion with power fist
You can flavor them according to your own taste (khorne, slaanesh, etc)
Chaos Predator: In 4th edition, the las-turret is altogether overpriced. You'd be far better off simply taking the las-sponsons and leaving the turret with the autcannon, which is significantly cheaper and actually better against light vehicles.
Dreadnought: Make sure if you're taking dual heavy weapons that you make them synergistic. The heavy bolter has different primary targets than the missile launcher. A good configuration would be a plasma gun with a missile launcher. It's also cheap. However, I'm not very experienced with dual heavy weapon chaos dreads, though, they seem more feasible in 4th edition. Overall, I'd still likely recommend taking the autocannon and keeping your dreadnought c.c. arm. This configuration provides solid firepower at a respectable cost.
Termis are also a good choice in 4th edition, especially squads of 4-6 with combi-plasmas, a heavy flamer, and 1-2 fists (chain fists and/or power fists, depending on your flavor).
Spambot kill tally. . .337
k so after a quick revision heres the revised list.
*w/ Daemon weapon + bike
* 4x powerfists
* auto cannon
chaos space marines
10 man squads in each
* champion with powerfist
chaos space marines
*champion with powerfist
chaos space marnies
*champion with power fist
