yer i know the imperial warhound is going for about £275 or 465 euros its a bit steep i know but if its as good as the imperial ones then it would be worth it .

even so throe i think that ill be kissing the wifes butt for a wile yet to get the money for it ,good job its not out till next year it will take that long to suck up.

While it may be an amazing model, there's no way in hell I'd ever pay that much $$$$$ for something I can't drive, ride or smoke

Think it like that: for the same ammount of dough, you could easily buy a new complete army. By "complete" i mean the entire codex list of any "race" fielded in the form of at least 2500 worth of points.

Also, to put it mildly, i wouldn't buy something as obscenely expensive even if i had all the 40K and WHFB races represented in 10 000 point armies each.

Forgeworld's models are expensive as hell, but they are incredible. I already have an Armorcast warhound (not quite as nice of a kit, but it matches all of the fluff art), and forgeworld's titans aren't my favorite of their models, but I can't wait to get my hands on some of their stuff (like the thousand sons dreadnought and a tyranid barbed hierodule). Sure, they're expensive but they are truly the nicest models around so it you're into the hobby for more than just playing the game, they are worth the loot. That being said...Forgeworld, please lower your prices!!!

The other question beyond cost to be asking is how often you would be using it?

Very true, I bet the larger (read more powerful) things would function more as 'collector's items', cool to have but rarely used.

I actually use my warhound fairly regularly to make up for having a fairly small army. I have 2500-2750 pts give or take for my marines, so when one of my buddies wants to play a really big game, or we play a big team game, the warhound comes out to play. I haven't found in the times i've used it that it really affects game balance, as long as my opponent doesn't waste all of their time trying to kill it (it has yet to die because I defend it with a terminator squad against assault). I've found that its great as far as a psychological weapon and its really hard to get rid of, but 760 points worth of lascannons and plasma cannons are capable of inflicting WAY more damage, before they inevitably get shot up.
