    Deathwingesque Chaos

Could the lovely people here give me a hand on getting this done. I want it to fit into 1500 points, and to have at least 4 obliterators and 15 terminators. And a terminator character. The problem im having is delivery. Any ideas?

Well by my calculations your 15 terms, 4 oblits and 2 squads of 5 CSM's come to 920 pts leaving your 580 to kit out your termies and your lord. I would suggest filling your remaining points with some more CSM's and Rhinos' to advance your icons to have them in good position to DS your terms

You'll have to cut down on termies buut... delivery method = deepstrike.

    Deepstrike = icons.

    Who are good with icons?

    1. Raptors
    2. Chosen.
    (3. bikes)

Some people also like Rhinos. Although I feel that in your case it would be counter productive as it's throway points which detract from your terminator count.

Remember, a rhino is a Terminator with a combi plasma.

I'll throw my lot in with Pappa Moon on this one. Rhinos are an expensive point sink in a termi army. However, you'll need to fill at least two troop slots up with something, and if not rhinos, then what?

Given that you're fielding 15 terminators in a 1500 point build, inevitably, the remainder of your army will suffer at some points; in particular, you can expect to have issues fielding enough infantry (i.e., marines, chosen, raptors). Ignoring all F.O. requirements, chosen or raptors are your cheapest forms of infantry for hoisting icons in your opponents' line, as Karmoon suggested. However, you simply do not have sufficient points for fielding either of these, and at the same time meet your F.O. troop requirement. For this reason, jmeis' recommendation of 3 troop units w/ rhinos is probably your best bet.

I don't have my chaos codex on me, but i'm guessing that lesser daemons can't be used as compulsory choices.

That said.. even a 6 man squad with a plasma gun has tactical applications.

    Yes, and Yes.

Daemons don't fill any F.O. slots whatsoever.

As far as the 6 man plasma gun squad, hmm...I'll have to give this one some more thought. For 90 points it doesn't have to do *that* much. Having two of these squads would then free up enough points for getting two of the following:

    8 man chosen squads
    *2x melta guns
    *1x a.c. w/ power fist

EDIT: Erg, that's right, chosen take up the same slot as termis. These will have to be shifted to raptors. Something like this:

    7x raptors
    *2x meltas
    *1x a.c. with lightning claws

Hmm.. at 1500 though, even two squads of termies is extremely termy heavy though.

So i think there's a lot of justication in having the chosen.

@ Archnomad - the squads rabbit posted are top notch - but don't forget the icons, which Mr. Rabbit has been very lazy and not written down.

    Too much carrot cake.

Ahhh...crud. YOU and your never ending stream of corrections!

Papa is absolutely right about having two termi squads at the 1500 point level. That's more than sufficient, and allows you to include a chosen squad for early pressure and a secure icon near the enemy lines.

Righty lads, thanks for the feedback. Now then, i was thinking roughly:

    HQ
Terminator Character of some variety (cant choose betweent sorc or lord)

    Elites
3x5 termies with combi plasmas, heavy flamers and the odd pair of lightning claws and maybe some chainfists

    Troops
    6 Chaos Marines
    Plasma Gun

    6 Chaos Marines
    Plasma Gun

    Fast Attack
    3 Bikes

    3 Bikes

    3 Bikes

    (all with icons)

    Heavy Support
    2 Oblits

    2 Oblits

    2 Oblits

Thats roughly 1500 pts i think.

Now, would this army be overly effective? It would pack serious punch on the turn it came down, and you would have to kill 9 3+ invulnerable T5 things to stop it DSing, which would of course turbo scoot behind cover.

Any thoughts as to what else i could do?

Im not so keen on taking chosen, as they would be the only things sitting near the enemy lines, as i wouldnt take bikes. And i think 9 bikers are more surivable, as they get an invulnerable when thay turbo boost.

Looking for more opinions+ideas here, anything else people?
