Hey guys just wanted some help on another troop choice Berzerkers or Sons, I mostly play againt Necrons, Deamon Hunters, and Space wolves i am having the hardest time against Necrons all he does is stand back and shoot which for a player like me who likes to get into the thick of it quickly is hard to play against he usually runs:
Necron lord w/res orb, warsythe, and those repairing spiders
Necron lord w/ res orb, destroyer body, staff of light
2 18 man necron warrior squads
10 scarab bases
and 6 immortals
Any help Or critizism is welcome
I think it depends on what the rest of your army's composition is like, but i would recommend the Thousand Sons against Daemonhunters, as they won't get a save from the bolters. I think Space Wolves is a sort of points heavy close combat army too, so using Thousand sons would really help to thin them out or eliminate them entirely. Against Necrons, I think CC is the best way to go, so I would choose Berserkers there, because if you win combat (which you will) and he fails his LD, you can easily over take him and in that case the Necrons don't get their special rule, so thats a full squad dead right there! Overall I think it depends on the rest of your army, what else do you use?
Thousand sons eliminating his saves would go a long way towards killing his guys off. I would think you would be much better off with those than berserkers against necrons. It's a rough time trying to get into combat using foot slogging troops against all shooty armies.
Against space wolves berserkers would work pretty well. Just ensure that you get the charge off, especially against bloodclaws. The +2 attacks and 3 powerfists would probably shred you. So you would need to hit that squad with zerkers and princes all at onces. Chaos kind of outclasses space wolves in cc and in shooting though.
Against deamon hunters I think thousand sons would be the better choice, since once again you would get to bypass his save for the most part. But a squad of zerkers with a powerfist would eat up a terminator squad pretty quickly. Here I woulden't deep strike obliterators against him, I'd leave them in my deployment zone to be ready to kill his deep strikers with plasma cannons.
