Grrrr, I posted this before and it hasnt shown up, so ill re write it, and finger crossed itll work this time!
Ok, im working on a new chaos force with heavy spider influance. My chaos lord will ride Shelob as a chaos mount, and my bikers will ride spiders instead of bikes. The colour scheme will be green and brass.
Photo's are what ive got so far, everything is very WIP.
Ive a few questions.
Do oblits all fire the same weapon each turn or can they fire different weapons each? And for the points would i be better off taking a defiler or land raider?
Also, for the bikers, would i be better off with 2 plasma/melta pistols or a single champion with melta bombs?
WIP colour scheme.
WIP Spider Riders
Ill keep updating this thread with progress reports and more questions as i think of them.
Is it me.. or are they the same colour as your nids?
I'm liking what I see dude!
Will leave this post in the Chaos section for a while and then shift it over to painting/converting so they can have a looky.

To answer your questions all obliterators in a squad have to fire the same weapon in a shooting phase, but they can all choose to shoot a different weapon every phase. I personally really like obliterators, I usually deepstrike them and take out the enemies heavy support, they are usually pretty reliable. It depends what you like and who you're playing. Against like tau and guard I would probably take obliterators to take out their tanks but against like tyranids or necrons I would probably take a defiler or land raider to take out the masses I personally don't use land raiders yet, because I don't have one ;? but they would be nice for taking down a monolith or you could even try a vindicator. I would personally take two melta/plasma because if you get that close i would rather be shooting a tank with two meltas than one melta bomb. The lord looks very good and so do the marines, I really like the spiders . Keep up the good work.
Thanks for the advice. Ill probably go with your suggestion on the melta's, itll give me a bit more flexability in the unit too. Im still torn with the heavy slots. Why cant all that heavy goodness be cheaper! lol. Id forgotten Oblits could deep strike, so they seem the best choice, but i have 5 terminators so the land raider makes more sense. I just cant decide!
As for you Karmoon, the colours are nothing like my nids! The nids are ice blue and these guys are scaley green. Granted ive brought the green up a little lighter than id planned but that'll be taken back down again with another couple of layers. The other termies are much, much darker. Im not as colour blind as you may think
Macewind, that's some interesting conversions and very novel. Spider bases must mean they can move faster, yes? :rofl. You've got a good overall color scheme. Let's see these pups finished! Two days enough time 8Y
Spambot kill tally. . .337
Oh yea, 2 days is plenty of time, ill get the full army finished by then And the spiders count as bikes so i should imagine they move fast! I might have to paint them red to get that extra boost tho...
Ive been thinking, they are green, chaos, will feature a spiral web for their logo... These guys are becoming more and more like the fallen as they progress.
Does anyone know a reason why several of the fallen couldnt of gotten together and created their own force?
The fallen could potentially gather together for anything. I am sure that being reunited after being scattered across space and time increases one's drive for a friendly face. Plus, if they're plotting with Chaos, more is always better. As for your spider troops, I was thinking perhaps that they see the spider as being an avatar of Chaos Undivided because 8 symbols is akin to 8 legs...Just something to think about.
"If you can wait til I get home, then I swear we can make this last."
As much as I wouldn't like to question anything but I feel that the spiders are a bit too small (but i'm guessing it would be hard to get spiders the irght size unless you built them from scratch....)
Other than that the conversions are great and the painting. I also prefer the lord scheme to the darker termies (unless they aren't actually that dark which is what i'm guessing)
Can't wait for the shelob conversion!
Anyone find it funny that Cities of Death show the two worst combat armies in the game ... in combat!
More work done so time to update the blog!. (this post is also in the modeling section). My landraider is finished and ready for painting. The most obvious feature is the cultists or sacrificial slave girls chained to the hull. The theory is that as the battle rages they will be blown to bits and adorn the hull with blood. This will please slaanesh and protect the land raider from harm. (in other words, the person i play against wont want to see to boobs removed from the table and will not shoot it ) Chains have been added in the undercoated pics.
Next is the dirge caster. Ive never liked the stupid little daemon speaker, so I converted the exhaust system to be a full blown organ that will wail like a banshee as the engines are gunned.
Finally is the spider. My army is spider themed, the lord will ride a spider, all of the bikers ride spiders and there will be spider like mutations. His name is Fred, obviously.
Lookin' good man, I like what I see. Your a pretty decent greenstuffer. Look in the Dark Eldar and Dark Elve range for good gothic items to use.
