So, (many months ago) I finally decided on doing a LatD army since it let me field all of the neat looking models that I wanted with the minimal amount of proxies. Sensing my contentment and desire to purchase product, GW has handily stepped in and put a squash on LatD. Now, I can always just use the old list with some minor tweaks, but are there any other options to field a similar army?
Fielding Imperial Guard and using allied Inquisition or, to a lesser extent, fielding a Deathwatch team would be fairly good approximations. I heard tell of a traitor list in a Forge World book in the Daemon Codex rumor thread, but I don't know which book it was in. Does anyone else know of any lists that may still be legal? If I can still field the army I have about 75% collected while staying legal, it would be nicer than having to say F it and mix lists.
(Wow. Three posts in two days. I'm on a streak.)
You play your game, I'll play mine.
Call it a necro-post, but I saw this and got interested myself.
The Forge World book you're looking for is Imperial Armour 5: the Siege of Vraks. They list off the table of contents here: Imperial Armour Volume Five: The Siege of Vraks Part One
Personally, I'd like to see whether there's anything else worth using, as well. It feels like such a shame to let my Beastmen project die... Of course, my currrent plan is to just use the old list, old codex and all.
I build, I convert, I sometimes paint, and once in a while, if I'm really lucky, I might even play.
