I'm almost a complete newb 2 warhammer an i saw chaos an loved it!I mean,a bunch of twisted hell-warriors tryin 2 kill some mofo human god for their own cruel gods, how cool is that! So anyway i was tryin 2 choose a god 2 worship an i cant decide. Any1 got any suggestions?
Well for one replace the numbers with actually words in your post, its against forum policy and just bloody annoying. Some people choose which chaos god they themselves would worship. Some just like the color scheme. Others choose because they see a good tactical value in the army. How do you like to play? Blow your enemies to hell and back? or slice and dice in close combat?
You know what they say, if you dont like the weather in houston...go back to where you came from
if you love chaos, then buy codex and read. its not like you have to buy extra codexs to see all of the army e.g. like SM (Ultra) and BA, DA, SW etc. Choose an army that you either like the fluff (thats the story behind them) or like the style of play, models, tactical enhancements etc. Every army has strong and weak points. No army is the ultimate they can all be defeated.
Put it this way. If you love the idea of the eternal hatred of chaos, choose the chapter which best suits your idea of hatred. (e.g. I chose Iron Warriors... really big freakin guns. *drool*)
If you like the story of a chapter, go for it. If you like the abilities and look of a chapter, then go for it. If you like them because they're the only thing you can think of that can win against your friend's five-year-old brother's IG army... well I think you have a slight problem.

What was taken, I won't miss, or I'll replace
Nevermind me... Well I'm all right. </span>
Looks like from your name that you all ready have a preference for a certain god. I will say go with the army you are first attracted to.

My elvish name is Maeglin Meneldur.
This is what I'd do if I were you. Start off with a unaligned chaos army, with a few pieces of each god. Use some khorne berserkers, a squad of noise marines, a squad of plague marines, and a squad of tzeentch possessed. Then find out which squad you find yourself using more often and develope the rest of your army accordingly.
There's no rule that says you have to follow one chaos god or one CSM legion. That's the beauty of chaos, there's no order, just do what you feel. Now, if your like 99% of the yahoos that first get into chaos, you'll buy a world eaters army, play it 5 times then sell it on ebay.
Jack of all trades, master of none.

Soup's up, bitches!
The downside of Chaos is that its painfully hard to start off 40K with. The rules in the Codex are sometimes unclear and its very easy to miss a really critical point. My advice:- read carefully.
The good side to that is that once you`ve got them figuered out you`ll find other armies (for example Imperial Alliances) easy to get to grips with.
Well join the DeathGuard and like I saw, you already love Nurgle. I love DeathGuard's Typhus and models, that's why. I don't know look trough the Choas Codex and see which army has a nice fluff
