I am creating a 1250 pt list for an upcoming tourny.
It is mostly finalized except for the demon prince.
I have decided he is going to have wings.
But I cannot decide whether to give him MoSlaanesh and LoSubmission or MoKhorne and Warptime. I have heard alot of praise for Submission and i would like to hear some of the ways to make best use of it in battle.
My list looks like this:
-Mark of ???
-Psychic power ???
3 x plague marine squad
2 x Pred
Please don't comment on the quality of my army. I would just like your opinions on how a winged demon prince with Submission would be best made use of in my army.
Jupe, it's a real easy decision. The Mark of Khorne prevents the prince from taking a psychic power. Go with the lash. It has far more versatility. OR, could go with the 'Caluin special': MoT, Wings, Warp Time, & Doombolt. It's IMO the best all-around prince.
Spambot kill tally. . .337
Yeah, the 155 point Lash prince is pretty fantastic. With the MoK, you can't take any psychic powers, but, frankly, for 140 points the MoK prince is pretty good, too. (both have wings, of course. Princes without wings are basically a mistake).
Otherwise, I agree that the MoTz princes are a lot of fun. With both Warp Time and a shooting power (not to mention a better invulnerable save, which is very important on MCs). I like the 200 point MoTz, Bolt of Change/Warp Time prince as well as the 205 point MoTz, Winds of Chaos/Warp Time prince. I hadn't really considered cutting back to Doom Bolt, but I suspect that's fairly effective, as well.
Finally, for 155 points, you can get an Unmarked DP with wings and Warp Time, which makes for a pretty good combat machine, as well. It's worth noting that this DP, though more expensive than the MoK prince, is more effective in close combat, overall.
Once again, the conservative, sandwich-heavy portfolio pays off for the hungry investor!
Against modern armies and considering our increased cost (on aggregate) I even think that a single lash is almost necessary to bring us in line to deal with absolutely masses of orks, or veil of tears etc.
I say go lash, or Cal Special, if you can afford it.
