I'm starting a heavy damage Iron Warriors army. What should I get?

The obvious: A Lieutenant, 2 or 3 squads of Iron Warriors (with lascannons), an Obliterator for kicks, maybe a predator/havoc squad...

In any case, esist the urge to go for maxed Obliterators and 4 heavies. Build up slowly.

go basilisk! my iron warriors never leave home without it

Got it. What should I give my Lieutenant? He's gonna be used to mix it up with any BA assault squads that get too close.

Basic weaponry for a Lieutenant that makes him pretty decent and cheap is the Dark Blade, Bolt Pistol and Daemonic Aura. Survivability and can kick some a$$ in return.

I like my Lieutenant with Kai Gun, power weapon and Aura. You could beef him up a bit more with Strength or a lightning claw if you want to.

I'd certainly take advantage of the basilisk option if I was you.

Why does everyone have a basilisk fetish? Yes it's good, but there's better options. It has a long minimum range if you use indirect fire, and if you don't use that option it won't even get to fire the Earthshaker cannon. It's good on large tables, but before you buy it, check what you normally play on.

Nah, I always use it and ithardly ever fails me. My opponents seem to have some intent on destroying it, watsing their shot on that rather than conentraing on other important things. You may say thats their fault...but the presence of the Basilisk is good too. Its destructive power is brilliant, as long as you position it well even on short tables it can kill loads, its brilliant against horde armies and marines (so thats basically everything then ).

3 Defilers, a Basilisk (all with indirect-fire), 40 Marines with anti-light vehicle/infantry weapons, Warsmith with Servo-Arm for repairs...
