I am planning a Word Bearers army. however, my regular opponent gets the dreaded daemon hunters, and will soon add witch hunters too them. Now this seems like a total daemon-killer, and word bearers use daemons more than any other army. What should I do? are bloodletters and daemonettes effective vs grey knights with their AP weapons?
Is it even worth getting WB if daemons will be inaffective?
plz give me some advice
well, you can absolutely be mean to them and use your 9 troop choices just on csm. don't use a greater daemon, it can be vanquished with the click of an inquisitors fingers, your best bet is to use plenty of screamers (tzeentch) as these are initiative six when they charge and strength five, quite good on any toughness for models then you fall back 3d6 behind your csm, protecting them. Use a dark apostle with the 4+ invulnerable save, he is a GM killer! Also give him demagogue, then he can't stop your charge, avoid plaguebearers, use bloodletters as their power weapons will tear them apart. Hope this helps.
yes, everyone tells me to screw daemons and take CM, but isn't that kinda undermining what the word bearers are? I will face this DH/WH combo more than anything else (aside from Dark Eldar), and it just looks like if i'm going to have any success, I might as well scratch WB and take up black legion (which are boring to paint).
I think GW overlooked the poor old WB when making DH, is it true that daemons (aside from BL and screamers that dave-o mentioned) will just bounce off them?
I like my daemons.... <_<
Aside of Screamers the use of plague bearers it will prove usefull
MEAT IS MURDER
Can u tell me why Dave-o ???avoid plaguebearers
MEAT IS MURDER
Because against GK the strengths of plaguebearers are almost negated.
Their high toughness doesn't mean much against nemesis weapons (they get wounded 3+ instead of the 2+ that is necessary in order to wound other normal infantry/daemons, no big deal), and their nurgle's rot isn't very effective against models with good armour.
Daemonettes are a way better choice against GK.
Thanks for the advice
another Q, how and what daemons are effective vs witch hunters?
always be sure to use bloodletters not only becuase of thier power weapons, but their 3+ armour save... all the other deamons get eaten by pyscannons and incinerators, but those blood letters will have a nice beefy 3+ save to cover their asses

first off does the daemonhunter player even use any of the anti daemon items. I know down where I play they don't. If they don't then don't worry about it. Just remember that you shoot teh assault units and you assault the shooty units or you assault the weakened assault units.

oh if I know this guy he'll try and cram as many anti daemon things onto his chars as possible
As above, what are witch hunters supposed to have the advantage against? I ask this because he will be getting sisters as allies, and if they have few anti-daemon
capabilities it might give my daemons something to munch through.
