Hey everyone, to start out i would like to say as of right now i play Eldar and i am relatively new, been playing about 2 months now. I want something else to play because eldar really isn't working out too well for me, it is very hard to use and it will take some time to get used to it. So to be frank i kinda want something different than eldar, something a bit easier to use and with more options so the two i am trying to decide between is Chaos or Black Templars, i like the look of both armies, just trying to figure out which is more fun to play and which is more competitive and versatile. Thanks in advance.
Yeah I think I have settled on Chaos, I like the Obliterators and they are way more versatile than the Black Templars, thanks for your opinion and the help.
Please capitalize 'I.' Thank you. ~Rabbit

Good decision. Chaos has plenty of options. You can make an army of black legion with some god dedicated units thrown in, and than make an army of those god dedicated units. You literally 5 armies in one.
If that makes sense...
the thing to rebember about chaos is you can pretty much play any army "chaos is every were chaos taints all"
Another option if you happen to lake the models for both Chaos and Black Templars is to use the Black Templar sprues (tabards and cloaks) and convert the symbols to those of Chaos. This is one of the joys of Chaos: converting every last model...all 1500 points of them.
Chaos is more versatile.
Like the six before me: go Chaos.
Why? Also like the six before me: versatility.
The amount of different lists you can make with the current dex is huge, and with that
alone you can have tons of fun. Both armies have fantastic models, but the conversion
fun starts and ends with chaos (personal opinion).
Innovation suffuses this hobby like a tea bag in the boiling water of play.
well, yeah go chaos...
no one would have expected that in the chaos forum though i (c'mon rabbit correct it! please) guess...
but there are some good reasons listed here like cool models and versatility and they are all true, though i (c'mon rabbit correct it! please) doubt we chaos guys wouldn't have found other good reasons if chaos was not so versatile and good looking, since beeing a chaos player means beenig chaos and therefore beeing versatile. so i (c'mon rabbit correct it! please) come to the only conclution. surprise: play chaos. i (c'mon rabbit correct it! please) even add one more reason: counts as. you can make any model, convert anything you like into everything you like more and so on and still play it. or try to explain to your opponent that this 5" high incredible beautiful model of yours fully covered in whatever you like (i.e. a big cyborg or large walking pus, or even the most beautiful beauty you ever saw) is a dreadnought. but now i (c'mon rabbit correct it! please) realise that this has already been said in other words. and so i (c'mon rabbit correct it! please) add another reason. you can skip it all. versatility, conversions. just take loads of khorne berzerkers or noise marines or csm and pound your enemy in the ground with some defilers/vindicators or predators. so end of the day you have the choice what to do and not your codex.
