So who is going to give this army a try??? The new models look pretty sweet and its nice they went to cheaper plastics. Altho, as bad as it might sound, I am going to miss the naked daemonettes....only because it fits slaanesh backround so well.
My opponent is fine with me using them as allies even though it is suppose to be a stand alone army, my only worry is that the two armies paired up will be too powerful. Any thoughts?
Well I will surely give them a try, but I'm not sure about the Battleforce box.

It look really nice but for almost 400$ I'm not certain everything that's in it is worth it... there's no Nurgle Daemon or Tzeench Daemons in it for exemple and there's a bunch of models I'm not sure I'll use, like all those independant characters who are totally new. Also, I'm not sure I will be able to paly with it as is or if I will need a lot more options to be competitive.
I've learned not to trust Games Workshop too much in the past for putting up a Battle Force with viable options in them... the new Ork Battle Force is an exception but that's a first.
I want to read the codex before I'll choose if I play with it or not, but knowing Games Workshop this Daemon codex will come full of really strong options, the kind that all the power gamers will love. I remember people crying cheese everytime a Greater Daemon appeared on the table, I think it's the return of that time.
Im going to make that call after the codex comes out, but if the rules match up then I may go an all khorne force. (love the new letter and jugger models)

No, I just got going with a Guard army. Besides, I doubt the fluff of an all-daemon army will appeal to me. I hope to have fun fighting them, however!Thank God they didn't keep that up. One of the things GW does right is making modestly attired female models (Most Sisters of Battle, etc.) and not going for the cheap thrill. Evil is no excuse for indecency!I am going to miss the naked daemonettes

So when does the new daemon codex come out, and will it be a whole entire army unto itself?
"When Blood Speaks, Shadows Answer."
The codex is aimed at creating mixed daemon lists (am i the only one who finds this ridiculous?). You will still be quite capable of running pure chaos forces, but it will be much harder. Mind you pure slaanesh will be fairly tough anyway.
I think it's going to be a fun codex, probably not especially powerful.
Actually, Ang, from what I understand, 'pure' lists dedicated to one chaos god will be given special abilities. What these special benefits will be, I have no idea. It'd be nice if pure Nurgle lists get to reroll their slow and purposeful rolls.

The move to plastic is certainly a positive one. Putting a unit of Khornate Daemons on the table used to say more about your credit rating than it did about your tactics. That said I personally won't be investing in the creatures of the warp. This is the thing about weird and wonderful armies, if they're not your think they are not your thing... Of course being an 8 foot superhuman with two hearts and three lungs myself I feel a much stronger bond with Space Marines so I will probably stay with them...
