Would it be naive of me (or any of you or want to) to try and make an online petition for Possessed? I was thinking we could ask that Possessed by reduced to 22 points and loose Daemonkin, but for 4 points per model, they get it back.
I got the idea when I saw a petition for Lost and Damned. But this petition seems like it might carry a little more weight. I mean, I'd really like to buy some Possessed, but no amount of rationalizing will ever be enough to justify their game cost. GW is loosing money with this codex.
Ok, feel free to shoot down the idea. Or support it.
GW won't ever change any of its products due to a petition. The re-publishing cost alone would be ridiculous. From what we know they do at the very least listen to online boards for random feedback but they don't base their game-designing on it. Any real movement to change the cost/abilities of possessed would be largely fruitless until they redo the chaos codex again, which I hate to say but thats going to be a LONG time considering that the new one is just out.
Nevermore Chapter: 6200 pts; 97/49/11; Longest Streak: 9 Wins/4 Losses; Nearing Completion
why not a WD update? besides, they did it with the last Chaos codex with the Obliterators.
just post an update on the website, if nothing else.
You have 2 chances of it working..
Slim and none..
Actually you have no chance of it working. No matter how many names you could get it wouldn't change a thing.
Your best bet is to wait 5 years for the next codex and hope possessed are better.

You dont have any hope at all.
Why not use Fabius Bile and take units with the enhanced power. Then you could convert the models to look like possesed and have them count as. There is a loop hole as some people think you can enhance ANY chaos space marines while others think its just the one that a the basic troop ones. If it turns out you can then you can use chosen with infiltrate enhanced and a few fists and lightening claws with the IoK.
Frankly, Daemonkin is worth 4pts a model.

The way you worded it makes it sound like you like the posessed models, but do not like the rules. Ever thought of using them as chosen? Thats what I did with mine, and they worked wonders.

I must ask, why would you want possessed without daemonkin? really? Why? They'd suck.
At present I agree they're a little pricey, but they make a fun addition to your list for friendly games. Then again, I do use chaos spawn as well so perhaps it's just me.
If you just want to use the models, like Riptor said use them as chosen. Or bezerkers. or anything. just make sure the opponent knows.
If I've replied, i've probably used Italics...

If you roll right and deploy them in a position where that power is useful, which you won't know if it's useful because you deploy and then roll... otherwise they're kind of like regular CSM but worse.
I admit that Possessed without Daemonkin would be... pointless. But some of the powers just are lame, and the fact that you roll after deployment increases the lame twofold.
Ergo, I'd rather spend the points I spent on Possessed on some Termies.
Possesed without daemonkin are CSMs with enhaced warriors from fabius carrying a IoT. Working the points out across 10 models they would cost 22 each. As everyone else has said 4 points for a roll on the abilities table is pretty good.
