First on the board! Woo hoo!
Looking at the new daemons codex, who do you think is its best character? I'm liking Skulltaker at the mo! Instant kills on a 4+, thats nails! Also you can stick him in a chariot to extend his life just a little.
Whats your thoughts?
Masque is interesting. Its 3 mini-lashes a turn.
I don't think GDs will be that heavily used. They're MCs so they're easy to shoot at and they DS. They may have a 4+ inv save, but that won't save them forever. I can see lots of heralds being used, though.
Slanneshi heralds will probably be the ones that will like chariots the most. The chariot gives them furious charge, a 4+ save, puts their wounds to 5, and gives them 6 attacks and t4. All things considered, you can take one with Pavane and a charot for 85 points, and I believe it counts as cav. The khorne chariot is the worst- it gives you an extra wound, but you lose your IC status.
I can see a lot of HoK being used with juggers.

Some of the special MC's are nice, Ku'ugth in particular. With 6 wounds, noxtious touch, and a ordinance weapon with an AP of 2, he'll be hard to put down and terminators will hide!. Couple him with Epidermis with his tally of nurgle with plaguebearers and nurglings, you have with you will soon have noxtious touch and FNP on a 3+ for all nurgle troops!! This will help to wear armies down while you use your Khorne and Slanaash to assault the crap out of them!
All of the chariots make you lose IC status, but they give such fantastic stat bumps that I'd say they are nearly always going to be worth it.
In particular, unless a Herald is being used to bear an Icon or hiding behind its IC status to snipe or Pavane, I'd say Chariot ever time.
I've been using a combination of a Lord of Change, with a Herald of Khorne and a Herald of Tzeentch for a few games now, and they seem to work pretty well, adding some significant shooting power to the army, and the HoK and LoC aren't half bad in CC either.
The greater daemons are very expensive for what they do, however, and I suspect that for competative play 4 heralds would probably be significnatly better (especially in mounted form).

i am actually thinking about an armylist with 2 winged greater deamons accompanied by 3 winged daemon princes. that's easily 1000 point but i like fast moving armies. throw in some plaguebearers as very survivable beacons and some screamers for tankhunting and let the fun begin
I like the Masque not too sure about the rules yet having only skimmed through the codex but its the only character i have pre ordered yet (not released untill 10th of may in aus)
