I'm looking to start a demon army and I think I have or will get what I need to fill most of my army. The one part that I'm stump on is what to do for the Elite beasts. I think the Fiend of Nurgle is right out, but I'm stuck trying to choose between the Bloodcrushers and the Fiends of Slaanesh. The Bloodcrushers sounds really strong and tough, but I'm afraid they might be too slow. The Slaanesh beasts seem lightning fast, but I'm worried they might die too quickly. What would people suggest? I've listed the units I have/will have below. If there is anything else I've missed that I should need, please say so.
1 Slaanesh Herald
1 Khorne Herald
5 Hounds of Khorne(Karnak included)
1 Daemon Prince
Any help would be appreciated!
i will definetly get myself some fiends. they are fast, have a metric ton of rending attacks and for 30 points they are a real bargain.
on the other hand flamers really are brilliant. 1 or two 3-man-squads will be a great little support unit against those resilient terminators and stuff...
The rending attacks to sound totally worth it. My dilemma, and the only reason I'm considering Bloodcrushers, is that in 5th edition, you only rend when rolling to wound. This significantly reduces the effectiveness of the Slaanesh Fiends. With a much lesser chance of rending are the Fiends of Slaanesh still worth it?
Think about it this way: Are raveners used in nids? Fiends are essentially better versions of raveners for less points. Ravenors are good, therefor fiends are good, and as cav, they'll often get the charge after you DS them even if you dropped them behind area terrain.

You do have a point on being able to hide the Fiends. The possibility of moving up to 24 inches is hard to pass up.
On the other hand let me argue for the Bloodcrusher, just to devil's advocate.
It's got s5 t5 and a 3+ armor save...2 wounds, ws5, a power weapon and furious charge, and all for the price of a terminator. It's three times as survivable as the Fiend to weapons with strengths between 3 and 6, and in melee combat it's about twice as good at killing space marines.
Let's consider 3 Crushers vs. 4 fiends.
The Crushers take 54 bolter hits to be destroyed.
The Fiends take 24 bolter hits to be destroyed.
The Crushers swing before Space Marines on the charge, and kill 6 or 7.
The Fiends swing before Space marines on the charge, kill 5 or 6.
In both damage and survivability the Crushers have the edge, while the fiends edge lies in their mobility, and their Hit & Run. Due to the army's deep striking nature and the Pavane's blurring of the mobility edge I'm inclined to favor the BloodCrushers of Khorne.
