Having only had a day to read through the I admit to being undecided about the whole thing. I think the army list is great based on two read throughs and some of the units are superb - but what I'm undecided on is how to approach collecting the army.
I'm a glutton for 'theme' - I love it, i love the unity of the look of the army, the generally straightforward tactics, the more fluffy feel to it, but you are always missing something if you just go down one route.
So I'm asking how you are going to collect yours. One god, two gods, three or four?
I've decided I don't want any nurgle troops in my force, so I'm down to three. The SAP is what clinched it, I just can't handle that really.
Khorne is my favourite by a million miles, and will certainly feature in my army. Slaanesh again has some great units, but Tzeentch units are probably the best.
The downside is that I don't really like the Tzeentch models and I'm not the best painter in the world - I struggle painting organic that looks okay.
I don't know. Maybe 1500 points of Khorne and 1500 points of Slaanesh. That way I can mix and match two armies, or just play one god, or join them both together.
2 Heralds, 3 Juggers, 30 Letters, 10 Flesh Hounds, DP and SG
2 Heralds, 3 Fiends, 30 Daemonettes, 10 Seekers, DP and SG
Oh no! But what about the tzeentch shooty goodness - the flying melta bombs and probably the best Greater Daemon.
I'm honestly stuck.
How are you going to do yours?
I can't say I've seen it all but I live for the things that keep me hollow.
You know I've played with a list of my own that I posted on LO and it worked fine and pretty much how I planned but then I played AGAIST daemons 3 times now a think I got a good feel for it all now. In my opinion the greater daemons are a must. Tzeentch at about 290pts is nuts (but expensive) and Kugath is absurb from the get-go (even for the points). But I will not be playing Big Kugs. I'll end up grabbing the Tzeetnch and Slaanesh GDs.
So you consider GDs worth it? I was thinking that heralds might be better (especially the Khorne one- that things a beast!) as GDs will get shot up fast and they're not nearly as resilient as, lets say, C'tan which are just slightly more expensive. Plus, you only present a small amount of targets at a time pretty much.
But then again, I haven't played them yet so we'll see.

I totally feel you on the GD's phoenix. When I look at Skarbrand running around with that price tag the line that comes to mind is "You Sir, are no Deceiver".
