how to use nurglings and if they are worth it?

I read nurglings hard to kill and used to stop units. Their statline seem pretty bad to me... any strategy to make them worth the sacrificial points and what number is it good to use?

Check their number of wounds... For 65 points you get 5 bases - 15 wounds. Thats 4,33 pts á wound, impossible to instant kill and with an 5+ Inv. Save. They are the perfect tar pits. Now we'll just have to see if 5th edition gives us any usefull rules for their Swarm ability.

And dont forget that in an epidemius list they can get 2+ wounding with power weapons...

One problem with 5th edition is that the swarm rule means they are not scoring troop choice units. Also I believe they don't block fire which can be a blessing as well as a curse. They are poor at blocking LOS to deamonettes deepstriking behind them for example but they are good at standing in front of flamers or pink horrors to stop opponents moving too close and assault them.

The Epidemius effect really makes nurglings shine but you need an army of almost pure Nurgle to get the kills in the first place to get the tally high enough. Your opponent also knows what is happening and will do all he can to kill epidemius before the tally reaches dangerous levels. This one could be fun....

    Epidemius 110
Great unclean one + Cloud of flies 165
    9 Nurglings 117
    9 Nurglings 117
    9 Nurglings 117
    9 Nurglings 117
    9 Nurglings 117
    8 Nurglings 104
    1 Beast of Nurgle 35

Total 999 points and 169 wounds!

Does anybody have any in-game experience with this type of list?

I'm so curious to know how well it works. It just seems like it could be so much fun.
