Can Choas marines still summon these new and improved deamons onto the battle field or is the deamons now a army that the csm will have to fight
Two seperate lists, the only time you can use both is in Apoc games
Blais's Paint Studio-Getting broken armies good soft scores since 2009
You can still field the models as Lesser and Greater Daemons in a CSM force. But you have to use the rules from codec: chaos space marines.
"The more choices you force the opponent to make, the better the chance for you to capitalize on his mistakes"
Sorry, but I'm afraid quite a lot of players will say "No". How about "Well, I'm allying these Imperial Guard Basilisks to my Chaos Space Marine army. I mean, it makes sense, Lost and the Damned right?"
Essentially this would allow you to bypass a weakness, IE the entire army having to start off table, by mixing the two codexes. Chaos Daemons has extraordinarily cheap troops simply due to the fact they have this glaring flaw - assault troops that have to stand around for a turn doing nothing. Using Pavane or Lash, you could set up CCs in turn 1 with your regular marines and thus shield the daemons. So many players might indeed not enjoy this prospect.
From a fluff point of view though, people might let you use it. This is especially true for friendly games, and less true for random players you are meeting at a store for the first time.
Just make sure you don't try to say that using the CSM "Summoning" rules also means your Codex: Chaos Daemons troops can assault out of Deep Strike. I can almost garuntee no one is going to enjoy that thought.
You're asking opponents to cede enhanced Invulnerable Saves and universal Immunity to ID at no penalty.
Then, there is the complete lack of guesswork with regard to the availability of those CD Units.
Add in the powerful ICs and other Units not present in the Codex: Emorines FOC, and ...
Sorry, that just seems like an awful lot of something for nothing.
would you even want to play an army which consist of multiple codeci, and thus have so many units, you do not have any weakness anymore?
I like losing, it inspires me for the next battle. I'm motivated to win, and I get that motivation from losing a battle.
I do not want to play an army, CSM and CD, mixt up in such a way, that my main opponent, eldar, can't win anymore.
no, I want to play for fun.
and by combining CSM with CD, I can again play in a style which I used to play with the old codex.
(ever since the new CSM codex, I've missed my mounted daemonettes, and daemonettes.
and now, I can use them again. and I can give my CSM lord D. speed again.)
The whole idea of it all, is to have fun. If you want to play uberly powerfull, and be the best, go to a tournament.
