I`ve been looking at these on the site, and since I`ve managed to get hold of a Lascannon and Missile Launcher myself, it`ll work out cheaper for me to buy one at £20 than it would to by a real one. I just wanna know, are they worth it? Are they the same size as a proper Dreadnought? Will they fall apart? Is the detail bad?
I`d really like some feedback here. I`d far rather one of those thats decorated for my 1KSons army.
The size is exactly the same as that of a normal dread, but they're generally a lot better. The default GW dread lascannon might not look appropiate on a FW dread though.
I own two of them, both were definitely worth the money:
They're somewhat more work to paint, but they definitely are better than the normal GW dread.
So do you think it would be worth buying FW Chaos Dreadnought weapons and base along with the main model? The Lascannon I`ve got is Space Marine anyway so I don`t really wanna use it.
I think you'll need them.
The FW dreads look ultra cool but they are a bit pricy at £32 for my complete GK dreadnought.

I have to say if I buy ny more chaos dread, they will bf forgeworld, the only real problems are as more detailed figures, as asteron said they will take more work to paint, and the standard forgeworld gripe of too much flash/trimmin will I suspect apply
Everything you have been told is a lie!
So what if there is extra painting and detailing to be done?....that's half the fun of the hobby. I think the FW dreds are phenomenal. I'm purchasing the WE dred as soon as I get the money.

Oh man they look great. I plan on buying the Death Guard one as soon as I can get the money. There is much more detail as mentioned before, and it then fits with the theme of the rest of your army without massive conversion needed. Well worth the extra money IMO.
Astaroth, I had no idea you played DG or 1K Sons. And nice paint job BTW. I really need to get pics of my DG up soon. <_<
They're quite impressive looking and best of all they need no conversion to make them fit your army. It also fits the fluff as those are the Pre-Heresy Dreadnoughts and Chaos should only have those and maybe, maybe the occasional Post-Heresy Dread that was recovered and had a new guy chunked in.
Also, they won't fall apart. Resin pieces tend to stick cement hard together with superglue - if anything you won't be able to take the model apart again, even if you want to.
I've ordere two IW dreadnaught and looking forward to receiving them
