Ok, I am more or less new to Chaos. I have been studying them for about 6 months to settle on what I liked, and ended up with Slaanesh. Now I am picking up things for my list, and I am wondering if I will have any chance of winning games. The heart of my list is a Demon Prince w/ wings and MoS, supported by 5 CSM on bikes with MoS. I plan to take two squads of 6 noise marines, even with everyone saying sonic blasters are not worth it. I am going to round out with 30-40 normal CSM, with MoS, 2 CC Dreadnaughts, a greater demon, and a Havoc Squad(perhaps 2 Havoc sqauds, one 8 man, 4 Heavy Bolters, the other 8 Man-4 Las Cannons) Does this list seem like it has a shot? Should I add terminators in a Land Raider?
Edit-The theme of the army is Slaanesh, obviously. I would like to stay away from the other gods. Also, think 5th Ed.
NOTE:This is not an "Army list" thread per say, it is more thoughts, tactics, and opinions, so that is why it is not in "Army lists"

well the list is overall decent... i cant really judge how you'll play it... but i do see alot of things i like inside...
i personally favor the useage of a nice amount of infantry.
but if im not mistaken... sonic blasters are synounymous to STORM bolters??
the 2 CC dreadnoughts... a VERY bad pathway 2 tread...
ive taken 1 and its effectiveness ALWAYS ends at 0...
their simply not quick enuff to get their... and if u pit them against anything near their point cost they get blown to
and seeing as alot of armies use vehicle killers... its worthless!
their better replaced with defilers that would be able to add heavy support to ur marines
and blow oncomming infantry to crap.
the greater daemon is actually a good investment so no complaints their.
the 2 havoc squads also a very good investment.
in my opinion it would be more worthwhile to replace you bikes with raptors (w/mark of khorne) and give em melta guns... just opinion though..
ummm honestly i dont think termies with a landraider is any good... i mean their a great unit and such. but their such a... "desirable target" is almost pointless to take them (2 me that is)
if ur looking to use up more points id go with a predator armed with autocannon+heavy bolters for infantry
id take ur 2nd HQ throw ina raptor lord/bike lord with a decent sized retinue...
use it 2 single out other hq's and just own over them or take objectives...
this is all opinion lol so i hope it helps u man!
thanks for read

I don't know, for me, it seems like in 5th, GW is making chaos CC dreads a must-take. I mean, run, with a fleet if it frenzy's, and if you roll a one, big deal, it lets off a bolter shot. `1
I'm Solid Snake...also, I'm a Primarch.
yeah i agree with both of them
I'm running a pure Slaanesh list myself, and I can honestly say that you're not doomed to lose by staying with just mark. Most of the time I play against Eldar and even against their better Initiative (Which makes my Mark useless) I can still win.
The only thing I would change in your list is taking out the 4 Lascannon-squad (a bit too expensive?) and adding some termis! I just deepstrike them along with my Lord for some combi-plasma death! :ninja2:
So if you get rid of the Lascannon-Squad you'll have enough points to upgrade your 2 Dreads to Defilers ( 6S10 Attacks + Battlecannon + Fleet = Teh pain ) and you'll prolly have some points left to spend into Termis or some Rhinos instead!
Keep your theme! You're not playing unbalanced and if you use everything in the right places a Slaanesh army can completely annihilate it's opponent!
well im doinf a themed army on ahriman rubric marines

Themed army lists definetely work, no doubt about it. I have been using a pure khorne army for a while and it works very nicely. I can't really tell exactly what your using in your list.
You should post your exact list in the chaos army list section, then you can get more detailed advice.
