The lash of submission. 25 measly cheap points on a tough model, pass a simple psychic LD test of 10 and you get to move a unit in any way, shape or form, INCLUDING BUNCHING THEM UP SO THAT YOU CAN PIE PLATE 15 ODD MODELS WITH EASE.
Now is that official ruling that you can bunch up the models so that pie plates own them, because that is serious cheese for 25 points. Taking one of them is bad enough but chaos armies with 2 in them??? Thats definitely Chaos Stilton!
Am so glad me and DH wiped the floor with the Nids/Chaos after such cheese (bare in mind we each had 1000 points and he also took a Defiler and Landraider). You take cheese you suffer the consequences!
Yep its a powergamers wet dream.... If you seach the chaos part of the forum there is alot on what you can do with the lash. Daemons also have a lash like power as well..
Mind you every army has their cheese component... (nidzilla anyone, tri-holo falcons etc..)
Although I must say the last tourney I played at the dual-lash list let me take home 1st place.

What once was courage has now cursed in the wars we've made.

To answer your question i think you can use the lashes to group the enemy models closer together according the the errata on uk's games workshop site.
I'd have to say if it was 2 lashes at a 1000 point or maybe even a 1500 point game its definately cheesy. I feel bad for you that he did that. But then i'd also have to ask what you used against that . . . .
He had one lash, but the sheer fact that you can bunch my models up for a Defiler to cannon 14 of them for a mere 25 points is pure ungraded cheese. That wargear needs increasing in points or a better chance of failure than LD 10 test! His land raider as well in his list decimated a trukk squad and this is only 1000 points. Pure cheese!
Ah well we got our own back. My DH ally is suicidal with his stormtroopers so he proceeded to blow the raider up with a nicely placed Meltabomb and I got a nice hit with a rocket buggy vs that annoying defiler taking it out..............along with 11 Hormagaunts behind it from the resulting explosion! And the cherry on the cake, the sorcerer on his own was repaid in full with a rocket to the face from the other buggy!! HA! A good victory for Orks/DH tonight!
Not many people will defend the Lash, although even I am tempted to use it in tournaments. Still, Azure Fade is right; most armies can be cheesy if they want to be. Good to hear you overcame the odds! Underdog wins are always the best.

Ive got to say that using two lashes at anything under apocolypse is cheesey. I do use one lash some times, its great to pull on the enemy but it isnt anywere near my most important tactic/unit.
My faveorite application of lash is swamping an enemy transport vehicle with a close by squad and the penertrating that vehicle. All the troops inside must disembark and friendly models count as impassible terrain. If you can cover all or most of the exits then you can kill the squad inside!
Whilst yes, the Lash is very powerful, but on its own it is all but useless. It has to be used together with other models to actually be effective, whilst you claim it is a mere xx points (No points costs on the forum unless its for a whole unit at a time!), you have to also purchase the sorceror, and the defiler. Thats about 250 points.
To be fair thats over 1/4 of your points on something that is a pretty one trick pony (With defilers no longer having indirect fire, a single missile launcher shot can easily take down the defiler and leave the sorceror puppeteering the enemies for no good reason), and so does not seem overpowered at all.
If you have a legimate compalint about lash then fair enough (For example if both it, and defilers did not need line of sight, THAT would be overpowered) but as it is, it can only effect one unit per turn, it costs a fair number of points to put out, and the battle cannon shot scatters 2/3 of the time. If you want cheese, go see the old chaos codex with siren (I loved siren).
Just my opinion, but if you managed to win anyway, why complain about how the enemy is overpowered? It obviously isn't particularly cheesy if you managed to beat it with a balanced army. Just seems like a reason to brag/complain.

Shows the lack of tactics needed to use the lash. And its not like the Defiler doesn't do other jobs during a battle besides supplement the Lash of Cheese. As mentioned above its been used to deny people the ability to disembark from a vehicle. Major manipulation of a rule quirk to kill a unit - not just unrealistic but completely cheesy! Obviously from your post you're a fan of the lash of cheese.
The issue is not about win or lose, its the principle, give me a Chaos army, I'd never use it period. Same with Orks, no Killa Kan/Dread walls of death cheese for me.
*sighs* Farmergiles..when are you going to stop going into other armies forums, armies you clearly know nothing about, to tell us how 'cheesy' said army/unit/option is..Lash is a powerful ability, but then again, every army has powerful options, and lash is by no means a game breaking ability. So now, please stop making pointless spam threads to say how 'cheesy' said option is, and how you managed to win agaisnt all odds..
Also, posts where the words cheese or cheesy are found 5 times are usually a bad idea, as are thread titles containing 'cheese'...

But there is a way and means to do things. And this is not it.
