Does anyone know whats the difference (besides the size and look) between the forgeworld Bloodthirster and the regular 40k one?

there are rules available in one of the forgeworld armour book thingies they make but are totally unofficial (like all forgeworld) in 40k they follow the regular greater daemon rules

i beleive despite their difference in sizes the both models base are of the same size

From the pictures on the Forgeworld site, their Bloodthirster appears to be three times larger than the GW one.

I've seen it in person, the model is huge. Base size it's between 3~4x the size of a normal BT base. According to GW, it is legal to have a model on a larger than normal base size (within reason) and forgeworld models are acceptable. He does have rules to go with him (think a BT on super steroids), but those are for friendly games only.

The model is fantastic, and would make an awesome centerpiece, but it's a hell of a investment, so be sure it's something you really want to have. Again, you can use him in regular games just fine, but he'll "count as" a regular BT or Scarbrand.
