Why does every veteran, Sargent's, exarch, nob, champion in the 40k world have 2 attacks but our chosen squad?
They are veterans by trade, so just like terminators, or leaders, they should have an extra attack. I just find it silly to be honest after using them in 2 games lately that the extra attack would help them out and make so much more sense to the rest of the 40k universe.
Go back and read the Codex again... The Aspiring Champion has 2 attacks.
Or do you mean the entire squad? Well, with Ultra grit, they do...
Of course you could give the squad the Mark of Khorne, giving the squad members 3 attacks, with 4 on the charge.
But that is just the champion, thats like not giving the regular terminators 2 attacks, I think you've missed the point of what I was getting at, that the ENTIRE squad is veterans, so why only does the champion have two attacks? its silly!
They traded 2 attacks for 5 melta guns and infiltrate hmmm.... Smart boys them chosen, I would have done the same..
What once was courage has now cursed in the wars we've made.
We are the sinners, before our graves.
Throwing away all of the veteran abilities out of the codex, now THAT was silly.
Back on topic: Chosen are veterans, and because of that, get to infiltrate. They are
(obviously) not better in close combat, otherwise they would have gotten that extra
Besides, putting an extra attack on an already infiltrating Elite's choice which you
can tool out as you please would make them more expensive points-wise.
So I guess that is why.
Innovation suffuses this hobby like a tea bag in the boiling water of play.
Not every veteran style squad has 2 attacks. Standard Space Marine Vets only have one. Sure, they can buy a second attack, but man is it expensive.
Plus, they come with CCW/BP on top of being able to take a butt-load of weapon options. I think they're plenty good, especially for the cost.
Emperor have mercy on those who stand against me, for I shall not.
Chosens do have 2 attacks, 1 for their normal profile and another for the close combat weapon. remember unlike space marines, almost every model has a bolter, a bolt pistol and a close combat weapon. chosen champions would have 3
They dont on their profile but they have cc weapons giving them an extra attack charging.
Chosen would be very powerful with 2 base attacks. 2+ (XHW)+ Charge+ MoK = 5 attacks.
Give them the mark of Khorne and you have a potential 26 power weapon attacks on the charge. Oh, dont forget the other 25 normal attacks. This is just with one squad of ten models.
Couldn't happen unless there was a huge jack in points
