I know this is more of a 'Painting' thing, but after posting on that board ad receiving absolutely no feedback, I've decided to try again here, in a much comfier setting
I think I'm gonna stick with the typical red for my bloodletters, but am considering using green for the swords. It'll be a sort of dark near the handle, flaming at the end devilish green (going from chaos black to scorpion green). Thing is I've already painted a bloodcrusher like that and while each element looks real nice (I'll post pics as soon as I get a chance), I'm not certian if the entire model works colors-wise.
So my question to you - of the khorne daemons you've seen, do they look better when the swords are red as their bearers, black, or something equally subtle, or maybe if they stand out a lot like I plan mine to do? Thanks!

hmmm.. i could maybe see them as black with a subtile green highlight along the edges...
I may have to try that.
What colour is hell?
Ask yourself. Think... look a mirror... then decide.
Seriously though, you should try looking at a bit of colour theory and seeing which colours go and which ones tickle your sick and twisted tastes.
Red is obviously contrasting with blue and green, so both of those look interesting and dramatic.
Black tends to go with everything, so is a safe choice.
other colours which are similar to red are also a possibility - orange, yellow even pink... although you'll have to be a bit careful with these as there's a chance they can detract from the overall presence of the model. All of these colours lend themselves to white too.
One more thing to consider, and this is vital...
but how are you going to base them?

As far as I remember, GW has always made the bloodletter's hellblades black(and wrote their fluff accordingly)... and it looks good ;) So black gets my vote, for continuity's sake (even if it lacks originality, I know :) )
