OK... maybe that a bit should be changed to a lot, but I'd like someone's opinion on how well my idea would work...
It's nothing special or groundbreaking, i just want to put all of my squads in Land Raiders. simple as that. a landraider for my lord and 4 termies, a 2 land raiders for my two 10 man squads, and hey, maybe even a land raider for one of the future squads i will eventually be adding.
Would this be a good use of my 3 heavy spots? and has anyone who has tried this give me some feedback? The more i think about rolling 3 land raiders onto the table, the more i really really want to do it (it's more of an aesthetic thing... i think rhinos are so weak looking)
I've been considering playing a similar list, with three ten-man squads in Land Raiders led by a Daemon Prince. I think it could be pretty good.
In fact, you can play a Daemon Prince with Wings and a Mark of Khorne, three Land Raiders with Daemonic Posession, each carrying ten Chaos Space Marines including a Champion with an Icon of Glory and a Power Fist.
And you have 20 points left to spend, though I'm not really sure what you spend it on.

Once again, the conservative, sandwich-heavy portfolio pays off for the hungry investor!
There is nothing 'wrong' as such with this sort of list. It's more the fact that it is a tank hunter's dream. Anyone who has included decent anti-tank kit will be thrilled as you have justified every point they have spent on anti-armour kit. Most anti-armour units come in under 200 points so players will see the chance to earn back more then their points in classic blow-it-up-NOW! fashion.
On the other hand, three landraiders is one BIG pain. You can't start the game in 'em unless they are dedicated transports but still. Wow, that's a whole lot of tank to chew through!
Um, why not 6 Land Raiders? I mean, if you are going to have a large number of LR, and obviously are not trying to make friends with that much AV14...
3 Heavy, 3 Transports for your Elite Terminators. You can Just squeeze it in 2000 pt.
However, 5 makes more sense, cause it leaves you with points for troop squads bigger than 5...
"Gah, metal boxes!! the fools, the cowards!! theyre hiding in metal BOXES!! we.. we have to take their boxes from them!!"
uh, sorry just had a bad flashback..
well, thats a lot of points and even more armor..
it'll undoubtedly work now and then..
question is, will it be fun to play?
i like more variety though, so the games wont play out pretty much the same, again and again.
move tanks, fire, move tanks, fire def, unload troops and charge.. sort of.
If your investing so many points in those landraiders consider carefully what kind of units you'll be putting in them. Something that really hurts on the charge like berzerkers I would think.
