Hey everyone, I'm about to get into Chaos as my second army, my main army being Orks, and I wanted to buy a Rhino to start of for something different as I always just do the boring troops then HQ then more troops thing.
So if I stock the Rhino with maybe just chaos space marines, or havoks or something, are they worth taking? Coz it seems that its good to just walk them up so they can start shooting earlier, otherwise they'd just be stuck in the tank. So I also need some help choosing which squads to actually put in the Rhino as well.
I probably will try not to glue the weapons on, atleast not until I get the codex, but what weapons do you think would be good? I hear everyone likes the havok launchers, but are they a 1 use per game army thing? Again, dont have the codex
And lastly, how many Rhinos do you reccomend for 1000-1500 pt games, do I take 1 for every squad, do I take 2 and just pick what goes in, what do you think?
Thanks very much guys, hope to hear back soon
Rihnos are exelent in 5th edition, you should take them.Havoc launchers are realy good and they are not one use only. You should take rihnos for every squad. But first, i strongly recomend getting the codex and reading it abit, that would help you make you're list
I agree, rhinos are much improved. Especially the new rule with smoke launchers. If you are lucky you can get withing assault range, pop smokes, then disembark and assault the following turn.
Thats great there not one use only weapons, I'm pretty sure thats how the one with the Space Marines work which is terrible (could be wrong ). Yeah I would usually get the codex very first, but I am just looking for maybe a couple Chaos models for now, just to model and paint as I already have a tonne of Orks to finish.
Plus Rhinos are pretty cheap!

Assault weapons allow you to fire at a squad and assault them in the same turn, go figure. This means meltaguns and flamethrowers can be fired as well. The exceptions to this are Slow and Purposeful units like Obliterators or Termis who can just do whatever the hell they want whenever anyways. Pistols used to be their own little category with special rules separate from the others, but now you might as well replace the description 'Pistol' with 'Assault 1'.
