So, playing against a Nurgle Chaos army, and he decides to bring down his 7 Nurglitch termies on my Emperor's Children. He fails his roll, but it's obvious where he needs them, on the right flank of the board, where his large cult squad is about to get shot to pieces by my Cult Marines.
However, I think a bit, and kind of grin nastily. His 10 cult marines were sitting outside their rhino, so, what I did was move my cult marines 6" towards the left flank, to help me where i was getting shot, and fly my lash prince over to those marines. In my shooting phase I lash them, and put the icon bearer in the middle of the squad, then spread all the members out. Pretty much denying the icon through the placement of his rhino, and his own men. As a unit of 7 termies is pretty damn big. As such the terminators couldnt use the icon, and had to take a risk, scattered badly and I got to place them. Right at the back corner of the board .

The black thing is the icon bearer. Set up like that.

That is a super idea, it should work well with the new SM codex and their annoying drop pod homers as well.
I had another idea for lash that would exploit the new IC rules. Unfortunately it wasn't as cool as I first though it would be. Essentially you lash an IC within 2 inches of a unit that has low leadership. Shoot, cause breaktest, 2 birds 1 stone. Unfortunately the IC joins the unit during their movement phase. However this tactic can be annoying in subsequent turns for them if the IC in the particular unit is a clear disadvantage for them.
I just thought of one you could use that in, very rare this would happen but meh
Say you have 2 mobs of 30 orks. One has Grotsnik.
Deep Strike your chaos terminators near the mob without grotsnik.
Shoot mob with grotsnik until it has a tiny amount of orks left. Then lash it next to the big unit. The Dok is obviously going to have to join the big unit for survival. And for those who dont know Grotsnik makes people move towards the nearest enemy. So they charge the unit of terminators specially geared for horde killing (khorne and 2xLC) with a slaaneshi lord in there for mauling grotsnik.
Dunno why I posted this. I just thought of it =D
