Loving the greater demon models and all ... but theyre £30 and made from metal... anyone know of an alternative model or a good one to convert from (preferably plastic)
Wait for the plastic DP coming out for Warriors of Chaos. Failing that, anything suitably big and gribbly will work (maybe a beefed up Chaos spawn?)
Check out ==My== blog: www.bnhblog.blogspot.com
has a date been released for the new DP yet?
for a unclean one you could maybe use a spawn and cover it with nurgly greenstuff all over and use the bug/insect head
i have seen some good conversions on a keeper of secrets with the gold guy in flying in these robes from the necron range (no idea of the name)
a Lord Of Change is able to shapeshift as it wants so i guess aslong it got the right base size you could use pretty much any model, but make some kind of cool conversion so your opponent dosnt just think you use it as a proxy or something, maybe make some tentacles from its back.
well im modeling all my nurgle stuff as 40k zombies, my squads of plague bearers are a mix of zombie units from half a dozen different races and for my GUO im making a zombie carnifex its cheaper than the GUO model and plastic so conversion is easy, plus its about the same size-ish
...although thats just going with the theme of the army n may not help much...
Order of the Wild Rose - gettin' pawned since 2008,
Callidus assassins current top score - 205 pts (silly terminators)
ive made (what i think is a) awesome bloodthirster from a plastic balrog. i just replaced its sword with the shaggoths axe by drilling through its hand and hacking the shaggoths hands off the axe then i didnt bother adding the flames and filled in the gap on top with green stuff and put basic scales on (ive painted the cracking lava effect like scales). on and i didnt put the tail on, just filled it in with green stuff. it now has a large butt but thats mainly due to my inferior modelling skills
That Balrog idea isn't bad actually.
I just use my Be'Lakor model painted in Khorne colors. Due to Bloodletters going back to the "Old school" look he actually looks better with them than the current Bloodthirster, but I have yet to get any of them (I was lucky enough to have 26 of the older models, which I like a whole lot better).
I think any large model mixed with the plastic Spawn kit would be great for a Deamon Prince or any of the Greater Deamons. I might have to mix my spare Khorne parts with the Balrog and see how that works out.
I got mine off of Ebay. If your lucky, you can get it for a steal
Imperial Guard: 3000 pts
Chaos Daemons: 1000 pts
I think il have a go at be'lakor , he is awesome afterall and I should have some spawn parts to maybe convert him with.
How do you think I could go about converting him into a keeper?
