For cult armies, are using a couple regular CSM units with the appropriate mark ok? (CSM with IoN for Death Guard, IoK for Wolrd eaters. etc) For example, is it useful and cost efficient for say 7-10 CSM with IoN in a Death guard army? Not as a majority but maybe a uniot of 2 dpending on the poitns. Also what do you think would be a good cult troop to CSM ratio? For 1500 points and up. I try not to do games below 1500 points.
If a Million Guardsmen die, that's a statistic. If one marine dies, that's a tragedy.
Yes, its a good choice for everyone. CSM are much cheaper and will be able to add diversity that all other cult troops lack, except plague marines, in there abillity to take assualt weapons. They are able to fulfil both shooting and assualt roles, plugging the gaps in both berzerkers and 1Ksons abilities.
CSM should be taken in 10s.
And if you're talking about fluff you can just think of CSM as newly defected loyalists who haven't been chosen by any of the four gods yet.
