I plan to field a quite assaulty force, not very many troops. So I've been considering using a small unit of Daemons to use for things like claiming objectives or help out in CC.
Anyone having any experience of using small (I'm talking 5-7) units of Daemons?
In all honesty i can really see such a small unit like that getting wiped out really quickly caught in the wrong position. I use daemons as a meat shield, so i tend to field them in medium to large units so that they don't get wiped out in a single turn of combat.
that can work, but they die horribly fast. you'd have to hug cover and utilize that +1 to cover save thing often to keep them alive. if they come early, you could have a hard time keeping the alive for the rest of the game. watch out for outflanking units or deep strikers that come in later. a land speeder storm could really ruin your day with those.
