I think what you put there is good, but i'd drop 3 powerfists and the chainfist, running with just a single powerfist
You want your terminators to be cheap and expendable. they hit hard when they first come in, and then they have a powerfist just to deal with the odd tank if they survive.

I agree with dropping some of the fists. It is hard to imagine why you would ever need 4 fists and a chainfist. The fabled Karmoon special works very well. Surprisingly cheap unit that packs a nasty punch when they arrive, and still pose enough of a threat after unloading their combi weapons that they are too dangerous to ignore. All that for just 155 points on the road. You can't afford to walk away from that kind of bargain

Yeah i agree with the above, all powerfists would be a bit much points wise!

Would i be hijacking the thread if i were to ask if there was an effective CC formation for chaos termies? Perhaps including lightning claws..?

I've recently started taking two termie squads - one is a karmoon with 3 combi meltas, chainfist champ and heavy flamer, the other is 4 combi plasmas and two power fists. The latter is my monstrous creature hunter when I go against a nidzilla army. Love em =D

That seems like a vey good idea deep striking termies left and right, confusing ur opponent on what they want to lose, their monsterous creatures, or their fragile troops?

I do agree with the other comments. I run a 5 man squad with 1 heavy flamer, 2 powerfists and 1 with a combi melta. power fists are just as good as a chain fist. with the rule change you go off the rear of the tank now. So most tanks are rear 10 and str8 is more than enough. Plus they do tend to draw attention when they arrive on the table so I tend to keep them cheap as I can.
    Hope it helps

Considering termies by themselves, the "Karmoon Special" is the best all round small "throw away/disruptive" termie force. Very deadly, very cheap.

Of course you may have to balance your termies with what else is in your army, and hence something else might work better for you.

As far as tank hunting goes, I find that if I am going to deep strike them, they draw so much firepower and lurking assault specialists that if I don't have 7+ they don't survive the return fire and immediate assault, so kitting them out for tank hunting via powerfists/chainfists hasn't worked for me. The termies are either tied up by tar pit squads, or wiped out by massed firepower/Banshees, etc.

Because you can't assault after deep striking I minimize my powerfists/chainfists. I take only 1 chainfist, just to keep folks from wanting to assault me with a dreadnought, etc.

I am not into much converting, so I didn't put together a "Karmoon Special" even though that is logically the best (combi-plasmas take some relatively simple converting -- there are instruction posts on this board, I remember seeing). I just used some bits that came with the standard termies and the termie lord, and came up with 1 Combi Flamer, 2 Combi Meltas, 1 Heavy Flamer and 1 basic combi-bolter with a chainfist for my 4 man squad, and add a basic no-frills guy for a 5th occasionally. I run a lot of troops in Rhinos, and use my termies as a deep striking disruptive force, never expecting them to survive. I throw them at whatever is causing problems, or just to cause some psychological damage. If the other army has to -- or thinks they have to -- focus attention on the termies, they aren't getting into position to deal with my "real" threats. If he goes after the termies, he has to waste maximum effort for minimal return. If he doesn't then they'll cause a major dent in his forces. In the short 5 turn objective missions, this is often all the distraction I need. This combination lets me throw down lots of template action with the flamers (HF wastes Tau Pathfinders, Eldar, etc), or lots of melta action against tanks or Broadsides, etc, as STR 8 insta-kills a lot of things. I have even been known to throw an Icon of Tzeentch on them if I have extra points, just to make removing them more of a pain, although I know no one else on these boards would recommend spending the points, as you only gain 1 extra level of save on a very few models.

So, I would minimize the powerfists/chainfists on a 4 or 5 man squad, and go with as much killy shooting stuff as you think balances out your force. "Karmoon" is "best", but other combos are very effective, and just downright fun! Regardless of effect, I always have fun with my little throw away force -- watching the enemy reaction to such few points is quite a good time.
