What would you suggest, just get all Khrone, or is any of it not worth it?
I already have a Bloodthirster (missing the whip) and 10 bloodletters for my CSM army, and thought i might as well have a proper Daemon army as well, with money to spare
A Khorne army is very much "KILLMAIMBURN" but has some serious problems. Mobility and Tank busting are the main culprits.
You can solve this by including BTs, Grinders, and Flesh Hounds. A nasty Khorne list would feature 2 BTs (Unholy Might and Blessing are musts), 3 Grinders (phlegm or nothing, they're for combat mostly), Bloodletters to score, and Flesh Hounds/Furies to tie enemies down. Add Bloodcrushers for a big tough unit.
Pure combat with your only AT coming from BTs/Grinders and phlegm, not the most tactical army but satisfying nonetheless.
Khorne has plenty of anti-tank. You must be confusing it with anti-LAND RAIDER. A lowly Bloodletter can penetrate a tank with a rear armor of 10 on a charge. A Bloodcrusher can do the same on your Predator/Leman Russ tanks that have a rear armor of 11. A Herald on a Chariot with Unholy Might can even penetrate a Dreadnought on a charge. Granted you have to roll high in all these cases but you have volume of attacks on your side.
Now, the real anti-tank in a Khorne list comes with a unit you suggested... the Bloodthirster. Upgraded properly, he has Strength 9 with 2d6 for your penetration roll. I'd take that over a lascannon any day! My last escalation league game saw my Bloodthirster crush a dreadnought and a Predator in 2 consecutive turns.
If you need a little more then you can always add rending to a Bloodletter, Bloodcrusher or Herald. Alot of people will probably scoff at this suggestion but I've seen it work, especially against walkers which are very popular in the area I play in... because 5th edition has made them ridiculous!
Then of course there's always the Soul Grinder. Don't take Tongue though, just stick to Phlegm and assault things you need a strength 10 hit to deal with.
So I'm seeing every unit in the Khorne army (except Flesh Hounds, which should only be played in FB anyways) having some form of anti-vehicle capabilities. Can any other army do that?
Sure Bloodletters can penetrate tanks, but how are they going to catch them? Infantry units that rely on close combat =/= reliable tank hunters.
If a tank is moving 12" then its not firing any weapons. Bloodletters can move 6", then run and when they get close enough they can move 6 and charge 6. Tanks can't outrun anything unless its slow and purposeful... even then you have to roll bad for a tank to get away.
The real problem with a Khorne army isn't its speed. The real problem is how poorly it does when assaulting into cover. No grenades = even the Orks will strike first with their lousy initiative. The best way around this is either to assault units with a Soul Grinder who have no way to hurt it or use lots of Bloodcrushers. I do both and my Khorne army has been very successful so far.
You might could catch a single Leman Russ, but what happens if they bring transports, or use skimmer tanks or have more vehicles? Not reliable.
