Well i have been wondering about lord configuration. well i usually run a sorcerer in terminator armor but i am converted a cool powerarmoured lord and am wondering if a footsloggin sorcerer is worth it ? it kinda seems redundant compared to terminator armour but i may be missing something.
The strong will always enslave the weak. Where the strong make their own fate, the weak bow their heads and succumb. There are few who are strong and many are their enemies, and the greatest of those enemies is the false Emperor of Mankind
You don't see them in many lists. Most of the time it's a DP.
Once in a while you'll see a lord/sorc on a bike.
One of the lists I use has a Tzeenetch sorc on a bike, with warptime and doombolt.
Wartime, charge into CC, and get more chances to wound and then use the force weapon.
Yes, I did deep-strike your sister...
Necrons : W-8 D-3 L-7 (Sleeping in their TombFoam, waiting for a new codex)
Chaos Forces (CSM/CD): W-42 D-19 L-28
Apocalypse Games : W-4 D-0 L-1 (4 Titans, Brass Scorp, 3 Baneblades, 2 Bombers, 3 Fighters, and a Partrage in a Pear Tree)
I personally like the idea of putting a jump pack on either a sorcerer or lord, and then attaching them to a unit of raptors.
Give the raptors either the icon of Khorne or Tzeench, and either add a sorcerer with a familiar, warp time, and wind of change; or a lord either with the mark of khorne, jump pack, and power weapon; or the mark of Slaanesh, jump pack, and daemon weapon.
You could run a cheaper sorcerer, but if you're going to do that, you might as well use a daemon prince.
I can see the bikes working for the lord, but I wouldn't footslog a sorcerer. His powers work best in the close to mid range, and footslogging or deep striking him along with a squad of termies both seem questionable. At the very least he should ride with a unit inside a rhino.
i have a sorc with wings and the flamer template power, he has yet to use it or live long but he usually goes with a squad with flamers.
May the "Nurgley Goodness" protect you!
The only reason to take a Lord is the weapon options.
Claws or Fist + Combimelta w/ JP or Bike are favorite combos.Without Wings/ Steed/ JP/ Turbo etc, an HQ becomes a housesitter.wondering if a footsloggin sorcerer is worth it
Park it on your DZ Objective and hammer anything that comes near.
In Annihilation games, hitch a ride with a handy CC Unit and go hunting.
Originally for fluff, I play a termie Sorcerer with a termie "command squad". I know full well that I could have two DPs for the price of these guys, but they've never really failed me, and they've worked themselves completely into my tactics.

I always use a sorc with wings, he has yet to disappoint.
footslogging sorc's are a bit too limited to be of much tactical use other than to assist a squad in my opinion.
What power(s) do you give to your scorcerer? I have one, I just haven't had a chance to field him yet.
The most common powers are either Lash of Submission (With MoS, obviously) or Warptime. Wind of Chaos also sees some use (Usually on a MoT model with Waptime aswell).

Fenrir: and magic.
Kaiser-: My Little Chaos Marine, Friendship is Heresy?
Is there any reason most people seem to prefer the Mark of Tzeentch rather than a familiar on their sorcerers? 25 points seems a lot to pay for a 4+ invulnerable save, rather than 5+, and that's the only difference I know of (besides demonic steeds).
