I just got 15 oop termies and was going to use in apoc (no problem) but in a regular 1750 pt tourney how many termies is too many? What is a good count for them? 1 squad or 2 small squads? thanks
I shall call him Squishy, and he shall be mine, and he shall be my Squishy.
entirely depends on your army. I tend to aim for half of my points in troops, 10-15% in HQ, a fair amount of tank busting (10-15% maybe, usually in Heavy Support) and then the rest in 'flavour' units.

For me this depends on how many dreadnaughts I have, as they both take elite slots. If there are going to be a lot of monstrous creatures or vehicles I take two lots of 4 termies and one dready. If I feel like two dreadnaughts then I take one termy.
I keep termy squads at 160ish points.
Be nice to your enemies, it will make them madder!
I would never use more than 5 termies in a game under 2,000 points.
If a Million Guardsmen die, that's a statistic. If one marine dies, that's a tragedy.

Most people I know field one squad (of whatever size) in the 1500-2000 range, possibly with a Termie Lord or Sorc. More than that and it starts to become your army's theme, especially if you insist on the usual accessories like independent characters, Land Raiders, upgrades, etc. If by 'too many' you mean what level is considered powergaming then don't worry--Chaos Terminators aren't remotely as annoying as the loyalist flavors.

Unless you intend to overwhelm your opponent with high armor (a large unit or multiples), I'd say five or less.
"If you can wait til I get home, then I swear we can make this last."
I run 2 squads of 5 in 2000 to do just as hot spike said and overwhelm them with armour. But thats just the theme of my army. When i have 2 tanks, a demon prince, obliterators, and abunch of plaugemarines in rhinos all atracting that high strength/low AP fire, the terminators just serve as more tough as nails units to either draw fire, or bring the pain if they are overlooked.
Its all about makeing people prioratize their shots.
There's a cheezy list called "Chaos-Wing", i don't know if you've heard of it. I have one, it's my tournament list. The aim of this lists is too field a lot of termis. For exemple, my 1500 list fields 12 termis. But, to be effective, it must be played with oblits (5 at 1500 ). This kind of army is very effective, but hard to handle for both the player and his opponent.
In a "normal" list, i'd say 2*4 men squads is a good number. Not too expensive, and pretty efficient.
Honestly i feel 5 is the best for any army under 2k pts. Reason being is point value vs. damage value. 5 termies are a threat to any opponent under 2k. The "karmoon special" is very versatile but add a lil spice and put 3 pf 1 cf along with the Heavy flamer. Throw them in a raider and your opponent ill put all fire power on them and they will survive and cry when you arrive. The damage you put out will make the points back.
I recently played a a 2k Nurgle army with my khorne army. I field The termies as posted and lost one. Feel no pain was a dud obviously and the power fists just ran through his troops like it was mardi gras on nurgle street. I field 3 squads of 8 zerkers and lost a squad but held all his troops in line while the termies did the rest. The raider got immobilized turn 3 so 24 inches was all i needed to stomp my enemy.
Good luck with the termies and im expecting some great critisizm to my post lol
