2X5 Nurgling Swarms
Iím building an all Tzeentch army at the moment and Iím starting to think that I need to include something to deal with assault units like Orks since my horrors would get pasted in close quarters, so Iíve dropped a unit of 8 horrors which gives me roughly 140pts to spend on one of two choices. (Its for conversion purposes that these are my only choices so donít suggest anything else like Bloodletters please)
2X5 Nurgling Swarms: These little guys are quite durable and cheep too given that they can hold up a dread or wraith lord for a who game. Iím also able to split them into to two squads allowing them to cover the army better. However due to their low WS I doubt they could beat a unit in combat.
(As for the extra 10pts it would likely go towards some instruments of chaos for my princes)
1X10 Daemonettes: Their fast and have a good number of attacks which means they can easily do some serious damage to a unit in close quarters before leaping to the defence of another unit in combat. But their quite weak compared to the Nurglings and can easily be shot up before they do any good.
Which should I take!?!
Even crappy orks would shoot up those daemonettes and just go for the horrors.
Now, I haven't been playing that long however... If all you want is a meat shield for your horrors the Plaguebearers seem a better idea.
They're going to harder to pick off at range, the daemonettes would only be good as a pre-emptive measure against assaults and like the previous post stated. They would get picked off by range a lot easier than the Plaguebearers. And considering you're only planning on one squad, if more than one ork assault force starts heading your way you're probably only going to be able to deal with one of them. I mean, I don't know how easy orks would be to pick off, however I imagine their numbers would still be great enough to take down some of your Horrors. While the two squads of plaguebearers may not win the fight against a squad of orks, it'd give you time to position your units and hopefully blast the orks to nothing by the time they finally break combat from the plaguebearers.
But like I said, I just started playing and thats just my limited view on the situation ^^
Nurglings are a much better tarpit unit, cheap, multi-wounders, and can't be insta-killed.

How far have my Dancing Ladies fallen? Nurglings are better for the job. It makes me so very sad to see that.
But yeah, one squad of rapid-firing guardsmen kills ~3.33 Ladies.
RecklessFable's Journey to Mediocrity (Painting an IG army)
I've been addicted to World of Tanks lately and neglecting my IG... But it is so... much... fun!
The only real use for daemonettes is for assaulting units in cover and getting to units faster. Bloodletters do everything else better. Nurglings and plaguebearers can tie up units for awhile.
My upcoming blog in the works:
Unfortunately, I've found that a 10-girl unit of daemonettes just isn't quite enough. 14 seems to be the minimum number for me. That being the case, I'd go with the little, squabbling boogers.
