I play Imperial guard and I want to convert everything into chaos can anyone help me how I would go about doing that what I mean is what guide lines I have to follow, and also where I can find this.
The Predator Lingers forth. Suddenly the sound of several wipping sounds can be heard far off into the distance, a second later the once mighty Predator ignited with flames. "Sir what was that" The srgt replied "Its those damn Broadsides"
Hear the wip, fear the Broadside.
You would want to play a lost and the damned army then. The rules and army list for that army ios in the codex: Eye of Terror.
or if you want better traitor guard jusr use the rules from codex Ig and paint the army different, that's what I did
So you want guidelines for creating traitor guard? First of all, use an evil colour scheme. Like black, blood red, or ochre(if you've read Necropolis that is). Secondly, do it like everyone that converts stuff to chaos. Add spikes, mutations, sewered body parts and chaos stars(or the symbol of a god). It ain't worse. This might also be useful:
scroll down for the Blood Pact army..
Ave Dominus Nox!
Like stated before, the best place for guidelines is in the EOT codex.
But concerning changing your models to Chaos units.
Depending on how "chaosy" you want your units to be it can be enough just to do major conversions on HQ units and unit leaders (because a lowly infantryman is not worthy of the gifts of chaos...or is he?).
I personally think it can be nice to have a units original color scheme with Imperial symbols filed away and Chaos iconography placed instead.
This would mean that you don't need to repaint everything but can make minor adjustements (The Imperial Eagle on the lasguns...etc.)
You could ofcourse repaint the whole lot. And if you plan to do that I recommend you paint flesh tones as vey pale and try to get a sense of misery in the models.
Also adding some barbaric themes into the army helps. Using the heads of Chaos marauders as well as doing minor weapon conversions. Nothing say CHAOS like a heavily bearded Guardsman running towards you wielding a spiked lasgun like a club!
Try adding scars and to capture maniac expressions on your guardsman faces. You could even use the way i did by painting them so they looked like they have corpse paint (for those of you who have no idea what that is then just check out almost any Black or death metal band. Essentially black and white paint used to capture the more demonic features of a persons face)
So yeah, if you want more tips on how to convert existing units into chaos units just post it in the appropriate forum and the tips will pour in.
