What do people prefer? I am thinking of going all dreadnought weapons now, because it normally fires the battle cannon or gets into CC when poop gets too close. So let me know what you think.

My model is 1 CCW and the heavy flamers cause i didnt have 2 ccw and i like the look to the flamers more than reapers on them.
I generaly arm it with the flamer since it is modeled on it, but i would like CCW more.
The battle cannon says what needs to be said about them shooting IMO. So i think extra guns are basicaly pointless, i would nearly never use them unless the battle cannon is disabled. :/
I build my defilers with a reaper cannon and extra CCW. I use the reaper cannons to blow up rhino's or other light transport. I know that the battlecannon could do it too, but I think the reaper cannon is more reliable. And you have a backup longranged gun for when you get immobilized and weapon destroyed.
Keep the Reaper just in case and lose the flamer in favour of a DCCW unless you can find a creative way of mounting it on the front leg.
Currently play: 4000+ of Black Legion
I'd go with the extra ccw. This is supposed to go in and rip things apart.
I really need to be painting right now.......
idealy i want to have 4 CCW with it, but i use 3CCW and the Reaper, mainly for what others have said, for if you get imobilized and weapon destroyed, you still can shoot with something.
Painting: 20 quarrelers
Having a light tank hunter like the reaper is useful for when the defiler is immobilised and the cannon ruined.
In a few games he's gotten lucky and taken out flanks of heavy destroyers and light vehicles because the enemy ignored that one reaper
For me there are two forms of Defiler:
1). Ordnance gun with a lot of wasted ability.
2). Close combat psycho with a large wasted gun.
Extra CCWs make sense as does having 1 main gun and 1 small gun (to avoid Immobilised).
Personally I go standard load and use my Defiler primarily as a big gun. If that gets destroyed, I can use the Reaper and HF while it gets going.
I am current;y trying no Reaper and extra CCW, so it can Run......
In truth, the only reason for me to choose a Defiler, is to deal with hordes.
same as many others: 1 ccw and the reaper.
