High people, I've just started work on my karmoon special terminator squad. Unforunatley there arent nearly enough peices in the box to make the full squad combi-plasmas (and I want them all to have power axes too), so I'm gona have to wait untill my bitz box order comes untill I finish the whole squad. Using the peices I have though, I have more or less completed my termi-champ. When I say more or less, I mean once I have magnetised his right arm, the combi-plasma, the heavy flamer and decided on a kick-ass head to place on the thing.
I took inspiration from a steel bretheren lord I saw on the GW website. Here are some piccies of my champ:
I think this is the best picture I have of my champ, it realy shows the halberd and back spikes, as well as my "master crafted" combi-plasma. Im not calling it master crafted because I'm an excelent converter, cos for the most part I'm not (I think this is a fine example of my best work though). I'm calling it master crafted becaus compared to combis the rest of the squad will have this one looks like a bomb
Heres a close up of the combi. As you can probably tell, it was once a reaper auto cannon. I think the grip that the skull sits on looks a bit like the coils you get on other plasma weapons, so thats why I converted it. It was fairly easy to do. I just cut off the barrels of the auto and glued on a bolter muzzle (realy fiddly) and the almost non existant muzzle of a plasma pistol (impossibly fiddly). Then I shaved off the top shell ejection thing (plasma doesnt need a shell to eject) and filled it in with green stuff. The reason I painted it over with codex grey is because I wont probably get round to painting this for quite a while, and I hate how much green stuff stands out on unpainted models. When I drill the barrels it should look pretty cool IMO.
Heres just an alternate view, I havent put shoulder pads on yet as the head and gun arm are only blu-tacked on. A few questions: 1) Anyone got a british site that sells magnets suitable for this kind of limb conversion? 2) Does the head look out of proportion? Its fairly obvious its not a terminator head lol The only way it would fit in is if it looks downward...
Please post your views, oppinions and recomendations!
Thanks in advance ~ Black Hawk
I like his axe, I did a similar thing to make a "power lance" on one of my CSM bikers for a diorama I'm working on.
The only thing I could really say about it would be the combi weapon, I'd shave the "power" cell down a bit, to more avoid the "sawed off reaper" look.
Yes, I did deep-strike your sister...
Necrons : W-8 D-3 L-7 (Sleeping in their TombFoam, waiting for a new codex)
Chaos Forces (CSM/CD): W-42 D-19 L-28
Apocalypse Games : W-4 D-0 L-1 (4 Titans, Brass Scorp, 3 Baneblades, 2 Bombers, 3 Fighters, and a Partrage in a Pear Tree)
I actually love the new autocannon, that looks wicked dude, I wish I thought of it now. it was always such a long weapon to wield even for the terminators.
That looks pretty cool. Unusual conversion for the combiplasma but it look good.
Currently play: 4000+ of Black Legion
I did the same great axe conversion on my terminator lord, I love the look of it on yours cause he's holding it high. The sawed off cannon looks like a massive drum fed shotgun, extremely cool.
I like the Bamf look of the combi-wep, GJ

Looks great! MOST impressive.
Take a look here:
I just got 200 neodymium magnets from K&J magnets that are 1/32nd of an inch thick, still too thick for arms i think, they were the thinnest I could find. I'm using them for icons, so I can change from icons of Khorne to icons of chaos glory and guns on tanks and such. Like the conversion though, better than my termies converted from the ones from AoBR and my left-overs from the plastic terminator lord kit (most of them only have one set of shoulder spikes).
