Hi guys i am hoping someone can help with ideas tactics against one of those eldar revenant titans.
I am playing a apoc game soon (i dont have the book and hence i dont know the rules for this titan) and i am going to go up against one, but i dont know what it can do or how to kill it?
I play chaosthemed around iron warriors and we are playing at 5000 pts each. I read somewhere that the titan is 2500 pts but that sounds like alot?
What do strength D weapons do against this?
Any help appreciated, thanks.
From my vague memory of playing against it (i had about 8000 points on the board in a 15000 point game, i was doing a lot) it shot my Chaos Rever () and did ok, i also had a nid titan thing on my side, i don't think its 2500pts, Rever is only 1250pts, and is better, its got a couple of good shots, D weapons i belive just automatically penetrate it (it has special rules for defence or regenerating its structure points) if it had Void shields, shoot them with anything, only need to glance, and they are always A12.
If you can i would suggest outflanking, with Power Fists, and hit it in Combat. (lots of Power Fists)
Eldar Titans don't have void shields but get a 4+ cover save from holofields if they keep on the move. Their armour is quite weak at AV12 I believe and the 4+ save on top of that. This means that plenty of your weapons have a chance of hurting it but that relying on a few killer weapons to do the job could be unreliable due to the holofields.
Autocannon havoc squads or preds with AC/2LC will be good against it and having plenty of shots capable of penetrating the armour will mean the holofields will be avoided by sheer volume of shots.
Power fists in combat are an unreliable method as the titan is jump capable and fast and will keep the range open. Raptors have a chance but any unit that gets close will be shot to bits or ran away from. Deep striling terminators with combiplasma/melta or even obliterators will have a good go at killing it or at least shooting the guns off the thing and then it becomes a very expensive piece of moveable terrain.

Thanks guys, so far looking less gloomy! I was looking at a apoc reload data sheet where u need 3 squds of 3 obliterators and when these combine their shots it becomes strength D.
What does strength D do to a titan if itgets through the 4+ cover save?
Having your own titan with a turbolaster or vulcan megabolter usualy makes short work of the eldar titans
They usualy can't save enough of the hits.
Yes, I did deep-strike your sister...
Necrons : W-8 D-3 L-7 (Sleeping in their TombFoam, waiting for a new codex)
Chaos Forces (CSM/CD): W-42 D-19 L-28
Apocalypse Games : W-4 D-0 L-1 (4 Titans, Brass Scorp, 3 Baneblades, 2 Bombers, 3 Fighters, and a Partrage in a Pear Tree)
Can you put a link up for that Data sheet please
The cult of destruction is in apocalypse reload, it's not one of the online datasheets.
It's very powerfull mine has crippled already several superheavies but then I use it with 12 obliterators.
I don't remember noticesing that, i don't think i looked at that, i only looked at Chaos strategic assets.
