I am a chaos space marines player. I have recently purchased some Bloodletters for my army as lessor daemons. I loved the models so much, I wanted to start a whole Chaos Daemons army. I have been looking at the codex and as with chaos marines, I am leaning towards khorne and tzeentch (also love The Masque).
I want to start off with a 1000p army, I am just not 100% sure what models to buy, how many and what exactly to play. What I know for sure is I want to play my 10 Bloodletters, my Daemon Prince and Flamers. Also wouldn't mind playing the masque as one of my HQ's.
Any suggestions on what to buy and where to start with an army list would be greatly appreciated.
Soul Grinders (taking phlegm)
Fiends of Slaanesh
Plaguebearers for objective grabbing
Avoid the Fast Attack section like the plague
Definitely sound advice.
I sometimes use the fast attack seekers and screamers, but only in larger armies. In smaller armies it's simply a bad idea. The other two fast attack choices are garbage, as are beasts of nurgle, and skulltaker (the changes to rending made him useless).
It's generally a good idea in Chaos Daemon armies to focus more on monstrous creatures and elites, rather than troops. Small units of plaguebearers and/or pink horrors are good for harassing and objective grabbing, but the real work will be done by the elites, heavies, and HQs. Some people like bloodletters, and I prefer daemonettes, but in either case, they're both definitely 'supplemental' units, and not the core strength of the army.
If you're going to use soul grinders, then definitely use 3, as they're the only vehicles in the army. You'll probably also want to use icons of chaos, just to make sure they land safely when they come in later in the game. You could probably use modified defilers as grinders, to cut down on cost. If you prefer daemon princes, then use 3 daemon princes. Either go all one way or the other. If you go with the grinders, then use your daemon prince as a greater daemon.

mynameisgrax hit the nail on the head two out of four of the fast attack suck why take Furies when you can take Flesh Hounds and why take Flesh Hounds when you can take Fiends one thing i differ on is i take 5-6 troops mostly horrors but there is one thing that you do not see alot of is Chariots of Tzeentch and Slaanesh so amazing and so cheep!
