Well a LoC is has more shooty powers, If you want to go shooty then go LoC, a Keeper is good for troop dirusption and better in close combat with alsways going first.
If a Million Guardsmen die, that's a statistic. If one marine dies, that's a tragedy.
With monstrous creatures in Chaos Daemon armies (either Greater Daemons or Daemon Princes), you should follow this simple 2 step process:
I used to scoff at Lords of Change, up until I stopped and did the math. If you give them breath (and you should), you'll not only have a standard greater daemon, with S/T 6 and 4 wounds, but a 3+ invulnerable save, and a LOAD of powers, which you can all fire every turn. That's an incredible amount of firepower, wrapped up in a very deadly and resilient container.
That said, I would probably only use him if I already had 3 Daemon Princes of Tzeentch, with bolt. For the same price as 1 Lord of Change, you can have 2 Daemon Princes with bolt, which is more bang for the buck, all things considered. If you want them to have wings, then the LoC starts looking better, and if you also want them to be a threat to infantry, then the LoC is definitely the way to go.
I just wouldn't shell out the points for the LoC until the Heavy support slots are all filled with princes (or soulgrinders, if that's your thing).
Comparing to the other Daemon Princes: the Great Unclean One is too slow (good for all nurgle lists though), the Bloodthirster is overpriced considering he has no powers (again, good for all khorne lists), and the unique greater Daemons cost an arm and a leg (although Korgath is interesting).
Ultimately, the only Greater Daemons I normally use are Lords of Change and Keepers of Secrets. Both are definitely worth it.

Have you considdered the Fateweaver and a little conversion work to add the extra head. Fateweaver can really help with surviving the first enemy shooting phase after you arrive. It also boosts cheap MoT princes by making their invulnerable saves into 75%.
