IMO i think he order goes like this
1) thousand sons
2) plague marines
3) khorne bezerkers
4) noise marines
my army has plague and thousand sons because i think they are the best but i have heard people saying that bezerkers are better and was jjust wondering what prople think
it depends on what you want to do, Plague marines keep objectives like no other space marine can, thousand sons lay down immense fire as well as noise marines, who probably do it better. Khorne Berserkers are the best you have for assault, it just depends on which situation which is better
I serve my master and do as he wants. He wants the badlands, thus they will be his.

I've played many many games and more often than not, my friends tell me they'd rather face my defiler then a squad of Berzerkers preparing to charge.
Thousand sons are great, but against non-MEQ armies, they're not necessary. I also hate having to spend all those points on a sorcerer. Noise marines lay down the most fire out of all 4 if you can have them sit somewhere and have the enemy come to them (24 sonic blaster shots from an 8 man squad is nothing to sneeze at). and Plague Marines are, like others have said, great objective campers.
Personally I think the best all-around is Chaos Space Marines
All the cult troops are excellent in thier roles, but they're all specialists (for a marine anyway). If you want "best" I'd define it as most able to handle anything that comes it's way, no matter what it is. That's Basic Chaos Marines.
Noise = Pimped out Pricey CSM
Zerker = CC specialist CSM
Plagues = Tougher pricey CSM
1k Sons = Anti-MEQ specialist CSM

stupid question but what do you mean by anti-MEQ
i think plaque marines are the best. they are as versatile as normal CSM and way tougher as well as fearless. that more than makes up for their points increase. just compare those two:
10 csm w/ 2 meltas, icon of chaos glory, champion, power fist, rhino (255 pts)
7 plaque marines w/ 2 meltas, champion, power fist, rhino (256 pts)
you only lose 3 bolters or 6 close combat attacks on the offence but gain almost double the defensive against everything that is not str8+ and/or armour ignoring (value based on personal experience). fearlessness is just iceing on the cake. their blight grenades let them even take assaults by all but the most killy close combat specialists.
^ to the above. You'd also have to consider the decrease intiative in close combat, so the reduced wounds in the squad even with FNP can have an effect that people often overlook.
1- Plague Marines (very versitile and more than make up for the 23 pts you spend)
2- Khorne Berzerkers (a lot of people fear these guys when they hit the table, the intimidation factor is well worth it)
3- Noise Marines (throw enough shots at a squad and they will fall)
4- CSM (very customizable to what you need done)
5- Thousand Sons (great anti-MEQ)
