    Current Chaos Dreadnaught contents

What weapons are in the current Chaos Dreadnaught box?
Is it possible to equip the Dread with 2 CC weapons just using the box content?

With this one I don't believe so. The model hasn't been updated since the days of second edition 40k. I had one once and IIRC you get 2 different types of DCCW (power claw, power scourge), but they both fit on to the one side. You could do a mod, but it would be tough as it's an all metal model. You would need to hack off a TL lascannon or plasma cannon from the other side and glue/pin the DCCW in place.

You would probably be better off buying the space marine one then use some bits/green stuff to chaos it up a bit.

If that's not the current CSM dreadnought then i'm not sure.

Hmm that's a shame, i like it's look and i do feel like i should have a Dread in my collection but i was hoping to go for a full CC Dread or a full long distance once.

Other option is to buy the IronClad dreadnought and Chaos it up a bit. That one comes with 2 DCCW weapons in the box.

Isn't that one a bit overly large AND more costly than a regular dread?

Get a Forgeworld chaos dreadnaught. With your choice of weapons it comes out at about the same cost as the GW metal dread anyway and they are far nicer models.

I don't know if this would work or not, but is there something wrong with using the AoBR dreadnought and converting it a bit? http://i4.ebayimg.com/06/i/001/27/65/7e2a_35.JPG . I have seen them go for $5+$3shipping on ebay so it would definitely be extremely cheap(if you're patient like me). It is of course plastic so that helps with conversions.

The furioso dread comes with 2 ccw (it is more pricey but I thought I'd point it out just to give you all the options) http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/ca...Id=prod1100054 .

You could also buy http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/ca...Id=prod1090197 and say your chaos warband suffered mental damage during a vicious warp storm and now operates with the intelligence of a child and the violence capacity of a serial killer =p.

If that doesn't work for you or you really need that chaos look, FW is definitely the best for quality and as someone else said the price is ridiculous at GW so you might as well go to FW and get better quality and the proper weapons.

Looking at all of these side by side just made me a little annoyed to see how much cheaper the space marine dreads are compared to the chaos one. I also despise the way they make a space marine unit of some kind (bastion, rhino, land raider, etc) and then throw in a spiky bit sprue like that is all it takes to make it chaos. I long for the day where we get different molds and not have to pay a ridiculous extra amount for it. I know the dies cost money to make for each model but I think if they give us higher quality products at better prices they would see a lot more customers lining up(and staying, instead of getting fed up and quitting).

to answer your question, the box contains:

    1 dread
    base

1 left arm "scourge" DCWW (the flail)
    1 left arm claw DCWW

    1 Right arm plasma cannon
    1 Right arm autocannon/heavy bolter

It is possible to convert one of the guns into a dccw using just the stuff in the box and some imagination.

The FW ones are almost the same price, and much better looking + you get the weapons you want.
