A thought occurred to me that by putting a 40mm base in a unit of flamers that you can get more Breath of Chaos off on the initially deep strike. You can easily fit 4 Flamers around with a little space in the middle for the Disc Tzerald for all of them to get BoC off, even the Tzerald. Make is the Blue Scribes and get potentially 2 BoC off or an extra Bolt of Tzeentch at an enemy tank
What do you think?
It could work but that is a lot of points in a very vulnerable unit. Personally I use 3x3 flamers and just accept that they are usually suicide units. Adding an expensive character to a small unit with not that great saves is just asking to be rappid fired into oblivion by a SM tac squad. Better to put heralds in large units of horrors or in chariots I think.
Quorn! - Protein for the Protein God.
Its a cool idea I have tried before, but just in an ordinary game, they get blown away and are not rigged for survival. However, me and the guys where playing a set or story games where units could gain experience and upgrades. On the first mission we played I rolled on one of the charts (I think Assault Sp) and my unit of Flamers got Feel No Pain. With that on them, I had a full squad with a HoT on a Disk and they where boarder line invincible. They even survived a charge from a 30 man squad of Ard' Boyz with grot support and fought on for two turns. I was never more proud of any unit combination that I ever laid eyes on again.
Short of it, don't use it normal games. But if you every play a bunch of linked story games with experience, it becomes quite a deadly and survivable force.
I use it all of the time. it is retardedly powerfull.
