I'm planning a CD army, purely for a break from IG and a chance to tote 5 monstrous creatures in a non-nidzilla list.
I don't enter GT's, so having strictly GW models is not a problem. I've found the following alternates so far (to the standard 40K fair) and am curious if anybody else has had any luck.

Bloodletter (most know this one):
Any other popular ideas are very sought after. Thanks
Privateer Press makes so many models I wish I could use in tournaments. I like the slug thing the best, great nurgle model that they don't even make.
Check my Blog for Battle Reports, useless ranting and more! Comments appreciated.

Heresy Miniatures have a good range of big and small daemons particularly their daemonic hounds and the netherlord
Avatars of war make a very nice 3 headed hound for Karnak.
Ultraforge make excelent greater daemons for all 4 powers and a few daemon princes.
Reaper miniatures have a good sized range of daemons and monsters.
Gamezone miniatures make daemonic cavalry ideal for seekers of slaneesh.
Quorn! - Protein for the Protein God.
Dryads make quite good horrors, I have a friend who uses them and they often get good comments. Alas, I have no pictures to show you though.

With the sole exception of my daemonettes, literally every model in my Chaos Daemon army is made out of non-chaos daemon parts.
The bloodthirster is primarily a Lord of the Rings Cave Troll.
The Lord of Change is the Red Terror Tyranid model (no longer in the codex) with wings glued on.
The Great Unclean one is a Warhammer river troll and a LOT of greenstuff.
The Keeper of Secrets is...well, it's a little hard to describe. I'll have to put up a picture sometime.
The plaguebearers are random guys (IG and Marines) with greenstuff and extra bits.
The pink horrors are genestealers, with the back arms clipped and glued on backwards, and a second face attached to their back.
The bloodletters are fantasy chaos warriors.
The nurglings are ripper swarms and some greenstuff.
The Fiends of Slaanesh are Chaos Spawn.
The Seekers of Slaanesh are wood elf dryads mixed with spiders (goblin spider riders, without the riders).
The daemon princes are just the greater daemons I'm not using in that list.
The soulgrinders (still in progress) are primarily made from drop pods (I found some extra door flaps on ebay and turned them into legs) with a toy monster sitting on top.
